There is a plugin called post type switcher that I use to turn posts into pages or vise versa. I would say after that to make that page be on top when you go into appearance with menus in order to make it the home page. That's my guess. I hope it helps.
Go to customize> then home page settings> then when it says homepage click on the drop down menu and chose the page that you want as your homepage.

I am fairly new myself on here, but I think if you change your post to a page set it as "Home", then it will show up as your homepage. This is a guess.

Hi - you need to create a static home page. That page can contain your "About Me", or any other information you want on the landing page. How To Change To A Static Home Page On Your Wordpress Blog

the 1st question I have is, I was thinking of doing camping products and tools as my niche and I was wondering if I could use multiple affiliate programs per one website? for e
Leo is absolutely correct. Another reason why you should have your own website is that it is your domain and your real estate and you can sell it. It's easy to rank as well because it's not a subdomain
Yes you can have multiple affiliate programs, and it's always best to have a domain that you own.
Not only is it best for branding but for instance you could not join Amazon (and other programs) as an affiliate using a sub domain like site rubix you need to own your own website.
