I am sure I can not be the only one having connectivity issues. Probably a quick system update causing issues.

What problems are you experiencing?

Yes, It seems to be running slow

Probably an update. Should be sailing soon

Yes very slow or not at all?
:((

Thanks for that Tosh good to hear

Loading slow or not loading at all

Olga should be fixed quick. Thanks for your response

Yes, off and on, getting message, "WA is not connecting" , "Error", etc. Not always - just now and then. I'm assuming they are working on the site in the background.

Don't know how they keep everything going and do maintenance behind the scenes. That's quite a feat for a large and busy site like this. Most places go offline when in maintenance mode. To WA's credit, I haven't seen that happen in all the years I've been here. ~Jude

Thanks for the information Jude!

Now mine's ok again......

Good to hear Therese!

Yeah, that happens from time to time. I get some fallouts, too. In my experience, shortly after they may announce a new feature or we will notice some changes.

So, keep your eyes open for anything new in the near future. And if nothing happens, I guess it's a system glitch or traffic overload. ;)

I am on the lookout Nicole. Thanks for your response

I was trying to save in WP when the servers went down...7 kinds of crazy sh*t.

I almost went back in time.

Don't do that! Of course if I could go back about thirty years it might not be a bad idea.

Yeah, that would put you in your mid 60(s). Lol, just ragging you bro.

It would be an improvement lol

Slow loading and when first went to log on it said page wasn't found and to try again later. Working now but seems a bit slow. Give it some time and should be back to normal soon.

I am sure it will Jessalyn thanks for responding

Just had an Error_ Empty_Response

I hate an empty response Therese! :))

Slow loading of the WA site.

Have I been sleeping?

What do you think about the about the member popups?

i like

Great to hear from you Wayne. I hope all is going well for you .

I noticed this afternoon. I like the brief profile story.

Thanks for commenting Rosa!

I just noticed these this afternoon. I wouldn't mind it, if it automatically goes away when I move my mouse off it, just like it automatically shows up!
I like the brief profile post.

I like your idea Janice.!

Haven't seen it yet. What pops up?

when you hover over someone's profile pic, a popup shows a brief profile summary.

I like them, Tim because it usually provides a first name which is helpful. I don't appreciate Kyle photoshopping my profile picture to make me look ten years older!

No, wait.........that IS my original picture. My Bad.....sorry Kyle!

Steve

That is why my granddaughter is prominent on my picture Steve! :)) Thanks for your time.

She is a doll Tim !

I like it better if the box just went away when I take my mouse off it instead of having to click it away......

I agree!! Cate. You still don't know the persons name for the most part. i don't know i guess I will get used to it and like it.

I noticed that earlier as well Tim :)

I am glad. Thought the new graphics card was acting up!

It suddenly turned up!

Tanvir

It sure did Tanvir. Thanks for your response.

I love it! Makes everything so much easier! Actually surprised that it just came out. Way better than having to visit a profile.

Great to hear from you Mohammad. Thanks for your comment.

I love it

Thanks for your comment Catherine! It seems as tho most everyone does.

Hey Y'all

Awhil

If you do not know then you should say so to prevent people wasting time. As a non technical member what I see is people asking questions and being given answers which are doubtless valuable if you are a computer specialist but just Greek to someone who isn't so may be if repying to a request check what level of understanding the enquirer has before giving a reply.
Patricia Gara

That is a great point Patricia thanks for stopping by

I do not typically post feedback here. I am new myself, and would much rather see a PM from someone who had something helpful to tell me, but is being considerate of my status. I have posted a PM to someone whose site I was leaving a comment on, rather than leave information here. Thank you for posting this to remind us all.
-Kathy

That is a great idea Kathy . Thanks for adding it to the list of possibilities. A PM does seem more personal. About as personal as we can get over the internet anyway. Thanks for your ideas!

Hi Tim late to the party, sorry. Everyone develops their own particular way to give feedback based on their particular understanding and core values with regards to internet marketing.
One of the things I do is look at the persons profile it gives an indication where they are in terms of their internet career. Starting out some folks can be rather fragile when it comes to their pride and joy that is only natural. So detail feedback according to the stage the person is at. It is not a competition we are here to help each other and it is so easy to crush someone just starting out. Take the measured approach.
In the case of someone who has been around the block so to speak the conversation can ramp up somewhat, for me just say it like it is, tell me I am dreaming, I will appreciate your honesty. So like all things here at WA the placement of feedback can be a mutually beneficial thing.
Start with the positive and then move onto things that may be considered by way of improving the performance in the quest of obtaining better outcomes. Definitely, a must add solutions that may be of benefit or at the very least considered. Honesty can be good but sometimes it can be overwhelming.
Crickey I may have placed 3 cents worth, all good.

I appreciate your response, Alexander. Until this question, I never thought about a members tenure here. That is a great point to consider. I agree wholeheartedly with the crush aspect that is partly the reason for this question. Thanks so much for your time!

Thank you Tim, I think the 0 to 3 month period is the most critical time in our internet career. 6 months and then funnily enough after that 12 month period, where you really start to evaluate things and the thing. is at that stage by the law of averages you have a solid knowledge base, so are able to evaluate.

Feedback can be quite challenging to give, because unfortunately it is usually very subjective and not based on actual facts or authority.

I usually avoid it - but if I do give it then it's worth asking the person what aspect of their site they are specifically concerned about. That way the feedback I give no matter how critical is directly relevant and I know it's on something they are willing to change.

Sometimes people give feedback on things that the person has already decided on and then they can get very defensive and frustrated because they aren't going to change it anyway. You might hate the green theme colour but if they really like it there's no point criticising it (however nicely you say it).

I think all feedback should only ever be offered as a possible suggestion and always given nicely. If you genuinely care about your work and have invested time and effort into something then criticism is always going to be hard to hear, some people find this especially difficult to take.

Thanks for your views. You gave me several things to consider. You are right. If the site has a black page with neon blue type it was designed that way on purpose, And probably took some time and effort to do so.
I also like your point on a specific area.
I think everyone is of the same mind that our views can be presented nicely. Thanks for taking the time to respond

Like Glen, I offer feedback about what I think about the site overall (of course if that's what the person wants), and let them know if there's anything I think they should change or adjust or omit or add.

Of course it depends on where the person is in the training. Buy usually there is further conversation. It's not mean in any way. Constructive criticism.

I agree Liz I think we can point out what we feel could be improved on. But there is a nice way it can be done. thanks for your answer.

I offer feedback in two versions:

1) I make suggestions for changes or explain how I do a specific thing on web design, or

2) I will ask if they are doing the get started training. This means they are so far off base that any constructive criticism would take too long to list.

:)

Great points Glen their progress in the training would make a difference. Thanks for your time.

Hi Tim,

I check the member's profile first... There are things that Jay repeatedly tells us in his webinar but the new members haven't got there yet, so I try to point these things out... And things that I've learned from the experts so far.

If it's a site by an old member... Ultimately conversion is the single most important issue and we should both know that, so I tell them whether I would genuinely buy their product or not, and why.

Otherwise I try my best not to be subjective, unless there's a valid reason for it...

Yes I use the sandwich system too!

That is a great point Ray. I think that checking the profile would be a good thing to do. Thanks for bringing that up! I like the sandwich method also

Thanks Dorina. How do you offer feedback?

There is a difference between comments and feedback! I'm talking about the site, I tell my opinion!

There is a definite difference Dorina thanks for your response.

You welcome, Tim! Feedback is a technical comment!

I agree

Hey Tim,
I noticed the same thing.

The element that we all have to consider is "context".
In many cases I see when members are trying to help others, they will leave the "constructive criticism" on the webpage they are asked to look at. This could go negatively to the website.

This (in my opinion) is the best way:

1. When you look a someone's page, leave a comment that is in reference to the subject or the information that the page is about. Be positive and supportive.

2. When tips or "items that might need correction" either go to the forum from which the request for feedback was made, or PM the Community Member with your thoughts or concerns.

One of the best ways is to preface you comments with "this is my opinion." Always list the good points first and the constructive criticism afterword. Make sure to be supportive as well.

This process has served me well.

Hope this helps Tim.

Greg

Is this the same as "regerts?" (title)...lol

I just pasted the link a minute ago and saw that..... lol Thanks for the constructive criticism :)))

I agree with your system thanks Greg

There was a blog today about it From what I have seen, people tend to be polite and offer feedback which is frequently useless. I prefer to hear sincere opinion, regardless how harsh it can be.

I understand the difference between the 2 platforms Jovo. I agree with your point of offering the needed feedback to improve the site. But don't you think this can be down in a manner that helps build up instead of tear down?

Does anyone know what was happening with the WA servers last night?

Tim

I had that problem and I thought WA had had enough of my Shenanigans now I know it was you Tim! LOL!

Don't ever turn your back

Never really noticed anything Tim sorry.

I don't know. What is it, what's it look like, and how do you notice it.

Nice to see you Diem

It was an opportunity to do a full scan and my antivirus found 12 aliens ;-)

Those pesky critters appear out of nowhere N! :)

No, it was definitely pesky widgets at work! Jan

It was Aliens (friendly ones just checking in on our WA community). Trust me......I know these things ! :-)

Steve

Funny!

We have just crossed over to the Twilite Zone.

I liked The Twilight Zone series!

May Rod's soul rest in peace

Did they sign up? :)
Laura

I am working on it! They want to know why we are fooling around with computers when all they have to do is think of something, and it happens. I told them we are not quite there yet, but we do believe that "thoughts become things." I told them I would give them a free toaster if they went premium!

It was down briefly, but came back up again. Working fine now.
Laura

I hadn't noticed a problem to be honest - what was wrong?

It went down two separate times. I switched browsers to no avail every other connection I had worked but not WA.

I came on a couple of times during the evening and all was okay - maybe I was lucky at the times I chose :)

You are special , but you already know that. ; )

LOL!!

Hey Tim!

What exactly happened last night? Perhaps only the administrators will know.

Will probably ever know unless I contact site support . But why do it now?

Where exactly are we supposed to ask questions in the live webinars? In the live chat box to the right or the comment section below?

Inquiring minds want to know.

The side bar at the right can be used also because when the webinar is on the live chat on the right is only for the webinar...I used it and he read out my question to the class...so either is okay.

Thanks for stopping by Michael so far we have bottom and anywhere.
I guess you can't go wrong. The teacher must not like me. No wonder I have to clean the erasers every day.
Tim

Now who have you upset in your climb up the corporate ladder Tim? LOL! Sometimes no one wants to listen...I know the feeling...

At the bottom, not the side bar, Tim

Thanks Lisa, Nice spelling in the title right!
Tim

Oh, I thought it was Spanish for questions LOL. Actually, I had not noticed that typo :)

Oops, actually two were should be where and questios should be questions. *Smiles*
