Chrome vs. Firefox
Hey Y'all
Just a quick note. I had the opportunity to help a couple members in the past few hours with training troubles. For some reason they could not advance to the next tutorial.
Not having experienced this myself my first suggestion/question was had all the task boxes been checked off as complete. Thinking back as I just typed this I realize that couldn't of been the problem. I was very guilty of clicking thru the training to try to get to the promised land quicker when I first started.
Both members replied the boxes were checked. I muddled around and we determined that for some unknown reason their chrome browser was causing the problem. When they switched to Firefox everything worked fine. Well not so much for one we had another small issue but the Chrome browser was the main culprit.
It may have been a fluke, or a hiccup, or temporary glitch but if you encounter this question it may be a good idea to try first. It could help get someone back on the road to success quickly.
Until next time,

Most of the time, it's the Firefox browser i have trouble with, but it does end up being the sloution to a hiccup with the other browsers once in a while. I still prefer Chrome for most intents and purposes, however. Firefox seems to load much slower and just seems bloated to me. I'm on a 2011 MacBook Pro, if that helps.
Just my 2¢
Hal
Thanks for stopping by and your comment Hal. It appears we have another Chrome vote. I am still a Firefox guy. I guess it is all what you get used to.
No... Tim, Firefox will do this to. They simply need to dump their local DNS , this can be done quickly by config. A quick Google search of " how to clear my local DNS on Windows10" or whatever platform they are on will show them how.
Thanks Chris for your time and teaching me something new. I will look at that as soon as I get caught up. Been Doctoring most of the day
lol. You know too much to be brass. I was always asking my Platoon Sergeants what was what. lol. The guys in the trenches are the ones who know stuff.
:-}. My sense of humor just got me in trouble in Jay's live training. I felt like a kid in the principal's office.
Hi Tim, Good idea to switch browsers when there is a problem. I have been having a heck of a problem with chrome since I switched to Windows 10. It is slow and takes forever to come up after it is closed. I am beginning to think that Microsoft built something into W10 to slow down Chrome. So I am going to try Firefox and see what happens.
Thanks, Joe
Good to hear from you Joe I appreciate you stopping by. I have always used Firefox and it seems to respond much better in Win 10
I had that issue yesterday too. This is a good reminder to troubleshoot by switching browsers first. I love Firefox and would strictly be a Firefox user if it didn't crash all the time.
But yesterday it was Chrome that was giving me issues. Other than the basic clumsy to start new searches. It was not allowing me to check off boxes or to right click on anything.
Anyway, thanks for sharing :)
Peace and Success
Thanks for stopping bySayra. Good to hear from you. I use Firefox myself. It has seemed to work a lot better with windows 10

Just read halinphilly's reply and bizarrely I am experiencing just the opposite. I have no issues whatsoever using Firefox, whereas Chrome has all sorts of stalling and tripping out issues - I never use Chrome now.
I am on Windows pc so maybe MacBook reacts differently - a dark art!!
Good to hear from you Terry. Finally a firefox vote. I am with you man. Thanks for stopping by
Great minds eh!
Best to you as always
Terry
