Words of Wisdom from the Late Great "Purple One"

Well this being my "Very first Blog Post" here at WA, I wanted this post to ring true for me and as well have faith that it will resonate with some of you (The readers) as well.

Many years ago in a past life, I was a budding and eventually young successful musician.

My passion with the instrument was at a ripe young age of 7, and by my 13th birthday manage to be onstage earning a good income as a young player, and went on to have quite a long colorful career as a Musical instructor, which eventually ended in my 30's.

Early on, the one thing that was apparent going forward from those years in the music world was this principle of......................

"Learn Every Aspect of your Art that you can, and your longevity is assured"

As a upcoming online professional a LOT of the WINS associated with this skill set are like that of a musician, meaning that they are not a lot of cut and dried edges........... (WA does really help to clear up that nicely BTW)

I say this because in 2012 this journey online started for me with a really good mentor, it started with nothing but a DESIRE to learn this process, as did my Passion to learn music at a young age. I could quickly see the correlation between the two "ARTS" and as you could well imagine was loving it. Sadly in 2013 it came to a HALT because of my "Day Job"

Now being back to this world of cyberspace in 2017, the one thing that again rings true whether it's in the abstract world of Music,Marketing or any other discipline of this type, is this absence of Real Defined Edges. Rules and tools for certain but no real defined edges, only the ones you have set for yourself based on where you are at the time. (and those lines change as your skills and experience grow)

So again the Wisdom from the "Purple one" resonates true..........

This is what has given me success in the past, will continue to live this principle in the present and will carry it forward into the future in a number of other disciplines and scopes as well.

The biggest obstacles have always been and will always be yourself not the rules and tools, because it will be yourself that ID's the not so evident "Edges"

Clarity, motivation, patience, persistence, creativity and the continuous practice of the fundamentals. Trying to ID the edges of where you are at, so that you can push through them to grow and become something else.

Brian Tracy says it best...........

"In order for you to achieve something you have never achieved before you must Master a new set of skills and tools you have never had before, you need to learn and do things you have never done before to become someone you have never been before"

Stay the course, always know WHY you are involved in it, Visualize your end result and do not pressure yourself with the "Time needed" to get there for YOU WILL!

"If someone has done this you can also"

Fall in love with the process, learn 1% of something new daily, keep growing your tools, review your knowledge so to keep it at the forefront of what you do,(Repetition is the Mother of skill)

Always TAKE ACTION on what you are learning, and slowly but surely as day falls into night your Edges will start to be evident, your tools will solidify and your world will Expand.

Just remember to install this bit of Wisdom from the late great "Purple one"

"Learn Every Aspect of your Art that you can, and your longevity is assured"

To all of my WA friends

Thanks for the moment.

Hi Dino
Very interesting blog.
I think there is another very important rule too.
Copy and learn (transcribe and learn) as much as you can.
Best regards.

Congratulations on your first WA post Dino, putting into practice what we learn and learn how to work it and we get to where we want to go.

Thanks Alexander
Absolutely correct...
Appreciate the connect.
:))

Continuing to expand your learning comfort zone pays endless dividends!

Nice
Outside our comfort zones but within our strength zones is where the greatest growth is.
Thanks Michael for the connect.

I think this is why self-taught people are so self-conscious. They know that they only know part of a discipline and trained people know it all. So they are self-conscious. Little do they know we don't care about their lack of skills.

Great post. Learn everything there is to know.

LOL You are so right.......... Self-Conscious

Throw in some Humility and you have a great driver of this principle.

Thanks Jay :)
