something from my niche to you...
It's the middle of winter here in Australia and my niche is ice cream, gelato and ice pops (icy poles). Hard to stay motivated writing about tropical fruits and slushies when I'm wearing layers of clothes, fluffy socks and fuzzy sweaters (jumpers). Anyway - something for you NH'ers (northern hemisphere), a simple and delicious treat you can make up and pop into the freezer.
I use a Zoku three pop freezer (quantity depends on the number of pops you're making and the molds you use).
Juice one big navel orange and add 1 heaping Tablespoon of sugar and whisk. Pour half of the juice into a blender or processor and add a third or half of a banana and process so it's as smooth as you can get it.
Fill the bottom half of your popsicle with the orange juice, add the popsicle stick and freeze. (For a Zoku that's about 4 minutes :-)) Top up the pop mold with the orange banana mixture and freeze until solid. Unmold and enjoy. Really nice on a hot afternoon or an early evening BBQ... someone regale me with tales of icy treats on a warm day, please?
