Hello WA World!!
So here I am, a brand new premium member as of June 2014 after poking around for the free week trial and my rank is 15,875.
Some years ago I decided to try and 'make money online' and put together a fairly large recipe site. This was back when it was still easier to write the html code yourself - which is what I taught myself to do. Let's just say that if you have a big site with a lot of child pages, you have to be uber organized! I worked out how to add tags, how to get myself noticed by the search engines, started making alliances with other sites to link share and then my first affiliates. The pennies were rolling in and I just assumed that I wasn't on the right path, that I should be making more money. After a disasterous run in with a bulletin board (ohmygosh, you don't know spam until you've been done over by pro utilizing a weakness in a bulletin board!) I let it all go.
But you know what? working full-time hasn't been that great either. Because of funding cuts I was made redundant and it took over a year to get another job. My poor husband!!
I have a new goal now - get an affiliate website up and running - I don't expect it to replace my full-time job, but once I can get it to tick over $5,000 a year, it will make a difference in helping me pay off my debt.
Some people may say I'm not thinking big enough and that's not true. I want this to be bigger, I'm just setting an intermediate goal. I'm just not an optimist always thinking things will work out for the best and being disappointed all the time when it doesn't work out that way. No, I'm the pessimist always worrying and planning. I'm happy when things DO work out. Twisted logic? You bet! Welcome to my world.

thank you Jenn - I'm keen to plow through the training and take up where I left off years ago. I think I was on the right track - now I feel confident having a community to bounce ideas off of.

I like to think as pessimism as realistic rationalism..its by no means a bad thing! Especially in this new frontier online...there is alot of opportunity...but like any new frontier you need to be prepared for anything.
And there is certainly nothing wrong with setting realistic and reachable goals....you appreciate the success more when I comes! In turn feeding your confidence to set more attainable goals!
One step at a time gives you a solid footing on an already successful foundation....good on you.
You are in a great place for success and you can make it happen!
