hello everyone, lately, my head has felt so clouded. Usually, i enjoy a glass of wine or two of a night. Tonight, i decided not to have one, and i feel better. We all have things on our minds, but lately its been more than usual. As for writing articles, its impossible when you feel this way. I was just wondering iim sure we have all been demodivated to write at some stage, how do you get back on track. Do you walk away for a day or two, and come back to it when your reenergised? If any of you can offer any tips or suggestions, id be very grateful. Thankyou

Tricking tactic are playing in our mind ,more we keep on focusing and analyze about what will be the best solution ,the harder it takes and keeping you out of track.

I have those days too! I usually try doing some mindfulness. I find even as little as 10 minutes can make a difference. The other thing I like to do is go for a brisk walk. If those 2 activities don’t help then I leave it or I ‘checkout’ the community here.

Hi Doug, Totally with you here, I sometimes just stare at the screen and forget what I am suppose to be doing... It's all about training yourself to be able to switch off from what you are thinking about. I am getting better with practise and help from a great set of two books and audios.

Sometimes I go and do something else instead other times I try and do some mundane things such as creating images and keyword research this gets you away from other thoughts.

Maybe a run or walk before you sit down to write, half an hour of meditation or listening to music.

Everyone is different. Keep trying different things and something may just help.

Hi Doug,
When I have these moments, I immerse myself in something that changes the zone completely.

So .... an activity that will take me away from the internet or the computer :-)

I'm not really a TV/movie person but I will seek out the latest pick from Netflix, get myself a cup of hot chocolate and wind down on the sofa.

I'm then ready to get back to writing posts ...

I don't have to do this too often as I know my WHY for my business so come rain or shine, you'll find me drafting a post.

Wishing you success!

Either you continue to focus, if you can’t do it then you move on to something else. No point spinning on the same ground-you will have more headache and it will get worse. Life still has to move on :o)

Good Day, Douglas.

I had similar problems when it came to writing, and here is how I solved my problem.

Compare writing to anything else you do. I used to work in heavy construction, out of doors, in the rain, on Monday morning. In the beginning, I didn't mind it at all, but later on, I grew tired of it, but I still went to work every day. I got into the HABIT of going to work.

Soon, I got into the flow of things. I focused my efforts on the task at hand and forgot that I didn't like getting up on Monday morning to go and work in the rain.

What I'm saying is this. Writing is a habit, and you are only a writer when you are writing.

Follow these steps and you will go a long way towards solving your conundrum.

1 Create a special place to write in. A place where you feel comfortable and that has all the stuff you need to write, so you don't have to leave and get SOMETHING!

2 Sit there, every day, undistracted and write something.

3 Just start writing, you can edit later. At this stage, you need to get going with the business of writing.

4 Write about any thought that crosses your mind at that moment, if you can't come up with the Nobel Prize-winning idea.

5 Do this for 30 days

6 This will develop the habit of writing.

7 You do not have to write the greatest story ever told, every day. Life doesn't work like that.

8 This will grow your confidence and after 30 days of doing this, your mind will "tell" you to write.

9 Drinking 2 glasses of wine a day is a bad way to improve your writing skills. A cloudy mind is a confused mind and you know this already. I can think of a few great writers who were alcoholics. They had miserable lives.

10 By simply sitting here, and starting to write, I wrote a long list of tips that work for me. I know they will work for you.

I have to stop writing this post now because I have to write a post for my website. I doubt that I'll write a post that will go viral today, but there is no doubt in my mind that I will be a writer.

I am a writer because I am writing!

I've got to go now. The "writing police" are kicking my door down and I have to run away to my secret writing place.

Go to your secret writing place and start writing NOW!

Great sharing, Paul! I like it! Will be looking into your blogs and post to learn! Thank you! :o)

Thanks, Terand.

Hey Doug48 whenever I’m not in the right state of mind or I find my self procrastinating content creation usually I try to change my environment.
I sort of get easily distracted so I try to look for a quiet serene area where I can develop content efficiently.

Hey Doug,

When you're down its really hard to get motivated.

You have to find something that you really enjoy that will bring you out of the slump and get your mind right. That's different for everyone so you have to explore what helps change that feeling to a positive one.

For me I love movies so If I'm down I find an uplifting movie to watch and often it changes my mood to where I can jump back in the saddle.

Food is another good one for me. However I'd be fat as a cow if I used that method.

Hope this helps,
- Glen B

yes, thankyou so much. No matter how much i try, you just cant. Thanks mate, your a champ.

I get my inspiration for writing from reading others questions about a topic. So you might just jump on some forums about your niche and see what people are asking about. Then you can write posts about it.

I wish you lot's of luck Doug!!

im not depressed or anything, just sometimes you feel like you have a brick wall on your shoulders

Sometimes you have to take out the chisel and hammer. Chip away at it till you break through.

I know you can do it!!

I charged into the website building training and didn't do my keyword research to use in the site name etc. I am pausing and working intently on finding the best keywords for my niche. I may need to scrap the website names I had selected. Fortunately there are past seminars on Keywords as well as a new one coming up soon where I can learn more on how to do this right. Has anyone else been in this situation too?

Edwin, have you watched the keyword research video. My website has got some good traffic from one post, because i did good keyword research. I suggest you watch the video again.

Doug, I have not watched that video. Thanks for the link. I started to watch this video by magistudios: and registered for a future seminar on this subject. I agree that this is one of the most critical activities at the start of ones membership in WA. As my sponsor Tim told be, having great content does nothing for you if nobody reads it.

Thanks Doug for the advice.

Edwin
