I doubt if it was obvious to anyone but my sweetheart and I were gone for 5 weeks or so on our annual camping and fishing trip up to the Eastern Sierras. Where we usually do our boon dock style camping, there’s no internet available. The only way to get it is to leave the campground areas and head out of the hills and back down into civilization and this doesn’t exactly happen every day.

So after getting home, unpacking the trailer, unpacking the truck and procuring a few bites to eat, you can imagine my apprehension when I opened my different email accounts and discovered that just in my Wealthy Affiliate email account alone I had something close to 600 posts and emails to check out!

Well, I’d never been away from WA this long before and I quickly discovered something. When we are going through our WA account and posts on a daily basis, quite a few different posts easily get our attention and capture it long enough to read all the way through them.

But when one has over 500 posts alone to go through and glean what they need from them, one tends to get a pretty good idea about who here at WA tends to write about what. One also can determine pretty quickly whose and what email tends to be what one really needs to read and what might not be that important to one’s campaign and involvement here at WA. One’s perception of “Gotta Have” and “Don’t Need” can really get readjusted quickly!

One thing’s for sure… I’m really thankful for all those who contribute here and especially all you folks that put out the great basic “nuts and bolt’s” type of training material. Soon I’ll be starting a new campaign and there is a ton of stuff that I’ve forgotten about building a website. I know that almost every imaginable thing that I’m going to need help with can be accessed here within the confines of this great community called Wealthy Affiliate.

PS: Yes as always, again this year, my wife out-fished me. I might have caught more Trout than her, but her’s were a whole lot bigger!!! She loves them big flashy lures and I love fishin’ with Salmon Eggs. I’ll try and get some pics up on the website as soon as possible, but it’ll probably be a while.

Nice to read about your camping!
No internet and no cellular connection sounds so typical for us in SA as soon as we leave the major cities, or even the major Roads!
It sounds like you guys had a marvelous time and came back refreshed!

Thanks Christine, yep, that camping is wonderful when ya' can get away from the internet for awhile. My wife out-fished me again, but I don't mind... it's just nice having a wife that loves fishing as much as I do! It really was marvelous but it was great to come back and re-enter this community here, too!

I've sure enjoyed your descriptions of where you live. Sounds like it is absolutely gorgous over there, maybe a little dangerous around the neighborhood, but really beautiful. I've gotten over to Addis Ababa... that was around 4 years. We were over there to bring our new grand-daughter home. The country side was pretty but the city itself was a little tough to travel through. I know South Africa is totally different... wish I could get over there to see it!!!

Hi and welcome back!
What'd you catch?
Emma

Pretty much what we usually fish for up there... rainbow trout, quite a few of the hybrid Alpers (trout) and just a few of the native Browns (trout). All in all we caught a bunch of them but due to something going on between the USFG and environmentalists, the average size of the trout coming out of the hatchery were only 8 to 11 inches... really tiny this year. It's amazing that the environmentalists can't even leave stream fishing alone in California. They are totally getting out of hand out here!

Randy, it has been several months since my favorite Californian became my friend and follower. Know it is nice to see you back. WE have become a larger community, then taking a vacation, we have a lot of catching up to do. My flashy lures always catch more, but I think by egg cheese combo gets the bigger ones. Still in Okie land missing my Sierra home. Gotta see those pics!...although I'll get more homesick. ^_~

Aw caylynn, you are so kind! I really appreciate ya'. I have noticed a lot of new people, totally amazing. I think I just read a post today that said that WA is averaging 200 new people per day. Not all of them continue on but that is a lot of people coming by each day and potentially experiencing this life-changing opportunity.

Ya, caylynn, I'm not sure. My wife really kills 'em on the big "B" lures but for some reason, I just thoroughly enjoy fishing with salmon eggs and power bait. Like you, I like the egg and cheese route. The lime colored garlic cheese and Pautzke eggs really get some nice, nice hits. And I gotta say that the last week up on the Robinson I did snag some nice 2 pounders on eggs!

Our Sierras were beautiful this year but for 3 1/2 to 4 weeks we were sopped in with the smoke from the "Rim Fire" over on the west side of the Sierras. By the time the fire threatened Hetch Hetchy we were consistently getting grips of nasty, thick smoke. But all in all, the Sierras were incredible once again. I'll see if I can get a few of the pics on the website... for now though, check out this little diddy http://youtu.be/8iY_vd2WuJw

Thanks again caylynn!!! Good to be back.

Hope you had a wonderful, satisfying trip and you do not feel overwhelmed being back! Just take it slow and easy the first day and then hit it hard and heavy!

Thanks Terea, that's pretty much what we did. I finally got all the posts read by yesterday morning. Today I've spent the whole day repair the website and updating the plugins. Still..... ton's more to do!!!

shall b waiting really to see both of you fishing, years ago I tasted Trout when I was in PAHALGAM(Kashmir).

Thanks Vimal... we both really enjoy fishing for them Trout.

Well, sounds like you enjoyed your break which is a great thing. Even though we all have to refresh our memories at times on what to do, this is the real advantage of WA. It's a training centre and at the same time a reference centre.
Hudson

Right on Hudson, that's what's so great about this community. So accessible and easy to get right back to whatever your task at hand is! Thanks partner!
