How to Write an eBook.
I'm considering writing my first eBook to use as a "Free Gift" in conjunction with building an email list and wondered if anyone could suggest some good training on writing one. I need to figure out how many words (pages) would deem it a decent enough eBook to give as an enticement for signing up but also possibly selling it on Amazon, etc.
I still have to figure out exactly what I'm going to write on but have a few pretty decent ideas. I was just wondering if there might be some good free software out there or a good site that can give me some good tips!
By the way, I do have PotPieGirl's training bookmarked and have to say... it's pretty awesome, indeed!!!

We have a Kaley in the family; Kalandra is an old Irish name. Writing an ebook as a loss leader is an awesome idea...why didn't I think of that...oh yeah...because my writing is atrocious. Is Rock Creek in Canada. as I noticed you say ey like I do!
Hiya Narda, actually, your writing is great! It's also very interesting. You'd do great writing an ebook with your style of writing that I've seen so far.
The Rock Creek that we go to every year is in California about 300 miles north of where we live. It's tucked in the Eastern Sierras around 30 miles south of Mammoth at about 8900 feet.
But, my son does live up in Vancouver BC so we do have a little connection there in Canada. We also have some friends from Scotland and Ireland who seem to say ey a lot. Guess I kinda pick it up from them alot!

Yes it is Narda. This is a little campground up on Rock Creek called 'Big Meadows'. There's only around 13 campsites or so but one of the most beautiful places we've ever camped and fished. And yup, that's my Kaylee girl. I don't think I've ever gone fishing without her... it just wouldn't be right, ey?

Yea ... this has been on my list for some time so I hope you'll share what you learn. I'll do some poking around and let you know what I find. Have you checked out Amazon?
I haven't really checked to see if Amazon has any tools to help us yet but I hope to get around to it shortly... way too many irons in the fire today, )-;

I do not know of any training on here that will help you write an e-book, but I have had some experience on the subject having written five or six short ones for use on Amazon and four real novels that I published on Smashwords.
As I am a one finger typist I have been using Dragon premium 12 as a talk to text system, I would recommend it as I get on very well with it.
Smashwords is a free and easy way to get your books shown around the world.
You have to decide what subject you are going to write about, I wrote two books on erotica and two more,
one on the subject of obesity and the other on reincarnation.
Have decided on a pen name?
It is a good thing to aim for about 40,000 words, a good average size.
