New Tool: Snaggy
I found a new tool that may be useful to you, if you do a lot of screen capture.
In Windows 10, manipulating photos has become a gigantic pain in the ass. It has decided you are far too stupid to know where your pictures are, and how you want to arrange them, so it constantly searches your entire computer and gathers all the pics under its own file structure, which is hidden from you. So you have no idea if the picture your clicking on is one from your backup drive, your C:Pictures folder, or somewhere else altogether. I hate it passionately.
Further, the Photo app is so buggy it can't even find all the photos I have saved in my own directories unless I add EACH ONE (no option for "add all subdirectories"). Glack. If you can't find the photos, you can't pull one in to the photo editor to crop it. Worthless.
Most of the time, all I want is to open a blank editor page, paste the screen cap, maybe crop it, then save it under another name. But so far, nothing I've found with Windows 10 allows that full operation. I can find editors, but they don't open a blank screen to accept pastes. I can find something that opens a blank screen, but then doesn't allow me to edit. The Windows Photo app can't even show me all of my pic files! Horrible.
I happened across a tool that solved my problem - SNAGGY. It's a website that allows you to paste a screen cap, crop it and do some other simple edits, and then save it back to your hard drive for use. Easy as pie and takes two seconds. I love it.
