Don't forget Seasonality

As we move into spring and summer months here in the Northern Hemi, keep in mind that your niche can be positively or negatively affected by the seasons. Mine is baking, and it definitely tapers off as the weather gets warmer.

What I try to do is go more for the holiday traffic. April was Easter, so I hit the Easter ham and spring-y cupcakes a bit harder. May is Memorial Day in the U.S., so some picnic ideas (how to roast on an outdoor grill is what I'm researching right now). And so on. Keyword research will help narrow your focus - and check out the periodicals as your standing in line at the Supermarket. They gear up for holidays just like you will, and you can piggyback off their research.

Phenomenal post!

This is a great reminder! :)

I was watching on TLC the other night and a lady who ran a bakery, also had a van out on the road where she sold cup cakes and cookies and other tray bakes.Obviously she sold teas and coffees with these and she did a roaring trade.

Always good to plan for the seasons. I have the initial framework in place for a site I will begin to develop in July to (hopefully) cash in on the next Christmas season :)
