A little learning is a dangerous thing

I'm a good example of this saying. I don't know how many times I've skimmed over a subject then had to go back and start over. This is how to waste time in one easy lesson.

In previous posts I've listed a number of faults I have that keep me from succeeding like a normal person does. I just realized I had another one and I call it "getting ahead of my self".

It seems like I'm always looking for a shortcut instead of taking my time, starting at the beginning and actually understanding the point before moving on.

Now that I've put it in writing it should start giving me a better understanding of my fault so I can start working on correcting it. If you have a simple trick to do this I would appreciate hearing about it.

I always use Word program to put ideas together. I leave the document open so that it is ready for me to add to it when my brain is working. When I think I have put in all of the information I need. I read it aloud and review, then rewrite or retype the way I wanted it to sound, review again, refine until I am satisfied with the content. Then I will copy and paste in segments on the wordpress. It may not work for everyone but it works well for me.

Hope I am able to help.

Hi Sophie,
This sounds like a lot of work but also sounds like it would be effective. I may have to try it. Thanks

My curiosity can get me in trouble. Like a cat, it might kill me. When I was in seminary, they taught me to sin before I repent. In State employment they told me that it is easier to say, Sorry, then to ask permission. Go for it. Jeffrey Or you can pretend your Trump and say, So What.

Hey Jeffrey,
That's some heavy duty information but it might work.
Don

I'm guilty of the same thing--it's human nature!

Jeff

Hey Jeff,
Thanks Happy to hear I'm not the Lone Ranger here.
Don

I am in the same boat as you.
Revise every class every so often and you will pick any missed parts.
We all forget parts even when we do the lesson fully and everyone should revise constantly and will find new information along the way.

Tom.

Hey Tom,
Thanks that's good advice. I'll to practice it.
Don

You just need to find a better outlet so that you won't have to get too ahead of yourself in order to keep going.
