3 Reasons I’m Not a Millionaire

In previous posts I wrote about each of the 3 reasons I never made a million dollars.

Here they are altogether and the reason why like many other seniors I’m just getting by. I’m comfortable but could have been in a much better position if I would have been able to solve these things earlier in my life.

I still haven’t put them completely at rest but am closer than at any other time in my life. It’s just too bad I waited so long to really try to overcome them.

If you read my earlier posts you would have guessed that the 3 reasons are:

  1. Distraction-I still find my self hopping on Google to research something while in the middle of doing something possibly in a different genre.
  2. Procrastination-This one I feel I’m getting better on. I thank the people here on WA for their suggestions which will make it even easier to combat this.
  3. Chasing the “Shiny Object Syndrome”-I also call this the “grass is greener ” and I has plagued me all my life. If I had stuck to one thing all those years I might have made a million in spite of numbers 1 & 2.

Now that I know what I need to do I’ll be a millionaire in my next life. Heck, I’m only 84 so maybe I can do it in this life.

Your post really hit home, Don.

I just turned 82, and I wish I had started this years ago. My biggest problem is that it takes forever to find the techy stuff I need.

I hate to make excuses, but at our age we don't adapt so easily. I need to print everything and read from hard copies. I hate everything in the clouds.

Gook luck moving forward. I'll tell you what I keep telling myself: "Just keep doing it, and don't give up."

Marion

Hey Marion,
I know what you mean about the techy stuff. I about wear out Google looking up things & about half the time I find something there that I have to find out what it means. By the time I figure this all out I've forgotten what I'm originally doing. Tough being old!
Don

Hi Don,

I laughed myself silly reading your post! It's so me!!!

We were born too soon. I grinch when I see 3 year olds with their little fingers going 680 on a cell phone in their hands.

Oh well, let's stick with it and count our blessings. It beats the alternative!

Have a wonderful day,
Marion

Hey, Don, You are on your way to BECOMING a millionaire, I know of a 91-year-old (young) who graduated with a Ph.D. so you are way too young to worry about these things. It is just a matter of when not even time, because tomorrow you might hit the jackpot. Best of luck.

Hi Zinzi,
I think I've hit the jackpot with WA. We'll see.
Don

Thanks for sharing, Don
All three areas are common for so many.
While we are still here on earth and have breath in our lungs we can still achieve great things.
All the best to you.
Darren :)

Hey Darren,
Thank you for the encouragement.
Don

You can still do it! It's never too late. Age is just a number, they say ;-)

Indeed :)

Hi Christine,
You're right. I don't think about it too much. When I really feel it is when I say I remember something that happened 75 years ago.
Don

I certainly understand the 3 points you have noted here, since I have had all 3 many times in my life. I feel since I retired I have avoided most of them by just being consistent on one path. Doing this has helped me tremendously. Wish you well.

Hey Wdcope,
I guess I'd better try what you suggest maybe it'll help, Thanks.
Don

I'm glad to see you're not quitting even at 84. I'm sure those years of experience give you plenty to write about. Thanks the post never give up your friend Steve

Hey Steve,
There is a lot to write about but a lot of it is best left unsaid. Thanks.

There is no reason you cannot do it in this life. I am thinking your plan is to live past 100 or even more. That gives you plenty of time...

I wish you the best!

Bob

Hey Bob,
That's my plan. My stepday live to 105 & my mother to 95 so I know there's hope for me. Thank you.
Don

👍😀

You're not done yet! Read T. Harv Ecker's Millionaire Mindset. Absolutely brilliant in helping to adjust your thinking and your mind to becoming OPEN to becoming a millionaire. Great and easy read! Keep going!

Christine

Hi Christine,
I'll have to check that out. Thank you for sharing.
Don

Only young and plenty of life to enjoy.
That old procrastination is a killer.

Lily 😊

Hi Lily,
My main procrastination now is putting off kicking the bucket.
Don

It’s easy to find things to get in the way ... there’s a great book that really helped me it’s Eat That Frog.. it’s a short read and I think you’ll enjoy it .. I know those same three chased me a long time and I still work on them ... great post..
Tim

Hey Tim,
Thanks for sharing. I'll try to check it out.
