Images Acting Wonky - Comments Looking Weird?

If you ever have problems with images popping up over the text or not showing up exactly where you want them switch to the "text" tab in the top right corner of your post when its in Site Manger editor. This will take you to the codes which sounds scary. It really isnt.

You might find dangling codes in there such as misplaced heading codes that are messing with where your image should be. Get used to switching to text view because you can use this later to set banners from affiliations and other images.

Wonky codes dangling at the end of your post can also affect how your comments look. For example, if you wrote into a template and some codes got pushed to the bottom of your article, they may make your comments show up like they are in large bold. What happened is that a header code like an H2 has been left dangling at the bottom of your article and is now making everything after it an H2 header style. Just go into "text" mode and delete those dangling codes. The last thing you see in "text" view should be the last thing you wrote, not a header, italics, bold, or other code.

Thanks, Doug. I did have my text where it doesn't belong, and I thought it was because of the update of WordPress. Carol

Yeah, sometimes it does happen with an update. Now I always check whats going on in the text view before I have a panic attack.

Good idea. Speaking of panic attacks, when my entire post disappeared before I had saved it, I nearly had one, until it magically came back again! I hate computers, but I LOVE WA! Carol

I had that happen until I started making sure I used the right image wrap option in the edit settings. - shirley
I use the aline left and right with the little dots when inserting my images.

For sure, those commands are necessary.

Never seen these wonky codes at the end of my text, but I will remember this when I encounter questions about this, thank you

I think for me it started when I was writing into templates then getting impatient with the pre-formatting and just writing. That pushed the template coding to the end of the article. I thought I deleted all the extra headers and everything but there were codes that could only be seen in text view. I found them by accident when loading a banner and looking for them has since solved a bunch of problems. Sometimes its not a code but a misplaced space that once again is only visible in text view.

Thanks for the heads up, Doug. I'm so new I haven't even looked at the text side yet, except by mistake when I first started using WordPress instead of SiteContent because it wouldn't let me log in to publish my post with images, and SiteSupport suggested I use WordPress instead. Carol

Thank you! Nice to know this could be caused by templates!
