Building a Porsche on a Pinto Chassis
I'm really happy with how my newbie websites look and function, but I am going to make an embaressing confession here -- they are all built on an old Pentium 4 computer using Windows XP and out-dated Chrome software! Yes, everything I have done uses no whiz bang apps, cutting edge anything, bells or whistles. My computer tower is more dust than microchip and chugged happily right along until yesterday when it suddenly flashed the "blue screen of death" and kicked off.
bleh!
Luckily I had another tower sitting right next to it that is almost as ancient though the operating system is Windows 7. I flicked it on, logged into WA and just carried on with the article I was writing. Everything I write is done in Site Content so it was all safely still there. I dont have a single worrry that anything from my site is missing because its all held here at WA. I think this level of security is a fact that is easy to take for granted, until your computer bites the dust mid-article.
Thank you Kyle and Carson for providing us with a secure place not only to host our sites, but to compose and store our writing, images and videos. That level of security is included in our monthly subscription and for me, yesterday proved that it is well worth the cost.

Thank you, I actually surprised myself on this one. You like to think you are backed up and prepared and when you actually have to draw on this its like, wow, I pulled through! :)
Past time really, my technology is from the dark ages. Fred Flintstone had a more current system than I have. And I dont even have a cell phone. Im admitting all this in part to show new people that you dont have to own the most top notch equipment to be an affiliate marketer. Whats in your bean is more important than whats under your fingers. That said, I'd like to avoid a repeat of yesterday with a somewhat newer system for sure.
I'm very pleased you didn't lose anything! I sometimes have the fear that I might lose my work.
So do you do ALL of your drafting straight into Site Content?
I'm in the habit of preparing all my posts and pages in Word before I transfer into Site Content. I may be in a bad habit there. One of the benefits for me is that sometimes when I'm out I don't have wifi so drafting in Word is all I can do. I guess I just need to transfer to Site Content shortly after.

I have seen that a number of people write in a word processing program and then transfer up. I've written a few books and am very comfortable with word processing but there was something about how Site Content provides the feeling of a blog post that attracted me to it. I thought I got a better feel of how the post would flow. Now I have an even better reason to use it -- security.
Hi Doug I know the feeling, I have ancient laptop that rides shotgun with me , I am sure it thinks it is a permanent fixture on the bonnet of the four-wheel drive, it has been dropped more times than I care to remember, but it just won't give Up, think it is having too much fun.
