1st Hurdle: What Is My Niche?

The 15-30 minutes recommended in the lesson to spend deciding on my niche? That was over 14 hours ago before I rushed out the door to work. Every spare minute since then has been spent trying to think about what I should focus on.

The good news is that I've narrowed it down to three things, or "areas." The following are my ideas and questions about pursuing them. I would love to hear your input!

1. Photography. It's been a long time hobby and passion of mine that I know I could write a lot about. Perhaps focus on special lenses? Unique accessories? Specific cameras for a specific job? This one definitely needs to be fleshed out.

2. E-Readers. I'm an avid reader who loves to travel. I could get into this one, however, I'm hesitant because I feel it would be difficult to generate any return from it. I have my doubts about it being very lucrative other than around Christmas time when people buy them as gifts. Thoughts on this?

3. I'm kinda shy to ask about this one but...tattoo care. I've gotten farther with this idea for a niche than the others above. I was thinking of focusing on tattoo aftercare products in general or narrowing it down even more to all-natural tattoo aftercare products. I could call it "ANT" for "All Natural Tattoo" or something along those lines (still brainstorming that obviously).

I feel like this is a niche that checks a lot of important boxes. It's something I'm interested in and care about; it is focused enough that I could become an expert in it; it is in decent demand. People will always get tattoos. Beauty products never go out of style.

My question, however, is this: can I do a site about products of which I have currently only tried two brands? Or should I do a site only about brands I've personally tried?

Thank you so much in advance for your help! Your insight and advice is greatly appreciated!

P.S. Shoutout to @BNakedScam who offered to let me run my niche ideas past him!

In any niche you choose, you don't have to be the "expert", you just have to be the person who's willing to do research and share that research so others don't have to. So no matter which direction you decide to go in, as you move forward, choose a niche you'll enjoy researching further as you write articles relevant to that niche and also provide reviews on new products you either try personally or research to share with your audience. It sounds like you're leaning towards tattoos and that seems to be a wide open niche you could continually scale :)

Ah research so others don't have to. That helps a lot! Thank you so much for your insight! I really appreciate it!
