Tip of the day 19
Today's tip is for Android phone users. I was always sad in the past that I couldn't set different notification sounds for different things like email, Facebook, Twitter, and or course text messaging.
Today I was in search for an answer and first I thought that a new app was the solution. So I popped that into Google Play and found Mega Sound was a option. However, it has bad reviews.
I stumbled further into the internet on some forum where someone else had the same issue. To my surprise, he got a rather simple answer to the problem.
Just go into every app that you want a different sound for and change it there. I believe that IPhone users won't have to do this but I am not sure because I have never owned one before.
It never dawned on me before to try this. I always assumed that I was stuck with one sound for all notifications because the Android operating system only allows one notification sound setting.
I think what confused me was that you are able to set different ringtones for every contact but you can't set different notifications for all your contacts. So I assumed there was no way to set a different sound for email and other popular apps.
