When I retired three years back, I started to finish all the unfinished projects from living in my home for 20 years. As I began working through it, I found I was adding to a mess of clutter which now included tools, materials, etc.A funny thing happened after I joined WA. Focus, Organization, and a better plan. I outlined my project list on a spreadsheet. I decided what I will and will not do to the home. I plan to sell out in two years and move to a suburb. Country living is too expensive fr

First Time in 5 MonthsI have commented on others sites through teh menu option and have been only moderately involved. I believe that I've commented on 25 or more sites. I've recieved a few comments from the "comment on three and psost you site" thread. OopsI've had most accepted and 2 rejected. My second reject elicited a letter stating why my comment was rejected and a caution that read in part: "several SiteComment Rejections you will lose access to the platform."I HopeI hope this means acce

I've been here for 5 months and today I took one more step with my posts. I added a featured image to all posts. It doesn't sound like muc progress at first, but it is something. The bigger issues for me are Keyword research, SEO, and content writing. My content writing is ok; It reads well, but i have trouble with volume. I've read that the ideal content is 2000 words. My average is around 500. Since my niche is seniors, I feel like the shorter posts are more likely read. It's a guess.Am I the

I've talked about affirmations in other posts and so have many of you. Sometimes they work and sometimes not so much. Today I want to share one of the best affirmations I have ever seen. This affirmation was recited by a three-year-old boy. Perhaps you have seen this, it was on the news last week. The boys’ mon taught this affirmation from early on.. She repeated this:I am Smart, I am blessed, I can do anything. In the video, I saw this little boy, walking down the street, perhaps heading t

It's a good funny. It really is.A month ago I was struggling with some areas of my site, menus and widgets. After leaving them alone for a while, I went back this morning and the puzzle pieces fell together. Now I have my right column widget area set up. I've include the important posts menu there, adjusted margins etc. and included more. Now I'm working on my next post for the week. Thanks to everyone here at WA for the support!

MantraFor years one of my personal Mantra's has been: Every Day in Every Way I'm Getting Better and Better. According to Wikipedia, at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89mile_Cou%C3%A9, Émile Coué de la Châtaigneraie was a French psychologist and pharmacist who introduced a popular method of psychotherapy and self-improvement based on optimistic autosuggestion.Ask WhySome believe that affirmations are lifesavers and others believe they do nothing. Over the years, I have exp

Scheduling an unscheduled time in life. After working for others for 50 years, things changes at retirement. My rigid schedule gone, life became unstructured. At first, I fulfilled a lifelong dream of practicing holistic means of wellness. There are many approaches and I excelled a few, namely hypnosis, aromatherapy, and energy work. I connected with a holistic practice about 30 minutes from home. Considering wher ei live, that 30 minute drive was close. The facility was great. There was a cent

I have this writing program, Zen Writer, it’s a great place to brainstorm, to journal, or begin blog. The main feature is distraction-free writing. I am uncertain how files are saved. I’m not sure. I know I can use Word to write, but to copy and past Word into Wordpress is a multi-step operation. I’m told Word copies in as HTML and the remaining post needs a lot of fixing. An alternative is to copy the finished document, from here or from Word nto a text file. Text will copy

Yes, Progress is Slow!Recently I refocussed on my goals and thought to try 2 posts per week. So far this week, I have one post. If I count posts here at WA, then i have two. A daily plan is hard for me. I live in a remote area and a simple outing for groceries takes 90 minutes. My wife and I share a single vehicle, and scheduling is difficult. I'm Not ComplainingI'm slowly adapting to a floating schedule. Thanks goodness that WA allows for floating schedules. I'm here at different times, doing
