You Gotta Have Goals
Zig Ziglar is one of my all-time favorite motivators. He put great concepts into his homespun southern dialect, and I loved every word.
I borrowed one of his stories, I’m sure he didn’t mind, when I gave a short speech at a Boy Scout Eagle Ceremony. The short speeches are known as the Scoutmaster’s Minute and usually given at the endo f a meeting, a campfire, or a ceremony.
The New Eagle Scout earned most of his rank in my troop and the boy, Andy asked me to deliver the Scoutmaster’s Minute. This was 20 years before my Toastmasters experience began and it terrified me, but I know I had to do my best for Andy.
The first part of the speech included a quote from a President, whose name I have forgotten, and was about raising boys.
I closed with the following short motivator from Zig Ziglar. He told of the local basketball team, all fired up and ready to play. The players faced off and the game began. The hometown boy had the ball, they raced down the court and stopped. Someone had removed the basket. Zig went on with “You Gotta Have Goals.”
I closed with a question; the same one I ask myself every day: “What Are Your Goals?”
It’s so true, You Gotta Have Goals.

So true. We do need goals. We also need to remember to put
a plan in place to reach those goals.
So if your goal is success with WA in 2020, what is your plan to reach those goals?

Did you ever wonder why some of us are goal-oriented and others really have to learn to form this habit, I have always been a goal-setting person but I am sure many members in WA are not

Love the story Dave, pretty cool yes indeed you got to have goals. Goals that will give you passion, goals that your heart truly desires, goals that you have made a commitment that you will not stop until you accomplish them. Have a great night Dave.
