Catching Up
I Feel Like all Things are New
I started Wealthy Affiliate in June this year and I have progressed slowly. I jumped into Bootcamp and followed the training. When the training instructed to write a post, I wrote a post. When the subject was Keywords, I did that.
Unfortunately, I seem to have a segmented sort of brain and I as I moved from task to task. I wasn’t integrating what I was learning. Perhaps this is a holdover from my college days when cramming for exams was normal and most of the material soon forgotten.
Today I began a serious effort at catching up and integrating what I’ve learned. I’ve even learned how to add custom CSS code to my theme.
Today, I began checking my SEO and correcting omissions. This will take some time and I am not done yet. About half of my post have been corrected.
I’m also working on my writing content and readability. This is a slow process. After college, writing was not a part of the jobs I held. There were standard reports where I would follow a template and fill in the blanks. There was usually more math and date than any sort of writing.
All in all, I started with a blank slate and bad habits.
The good news is that today a light went on and some training is coming together.
I’m certain I have many emails to catch up on and even more that I will ignore because I don’t feel competent to answer so many of them. That is changing, I promise.

I am so with you. I have gone over things a couple times. I am very unhappy with the look of my first website but i will prevail.
I want to be able to answer more questions but the confidence just isnt there yet.
It will come for us both.

Did you go through all your training or just Bootcamp because I am seriously thinking about starting all over from the very beginning of my training to get my website like it should be. Only one of my 7 blogs has been indexed by Google and I feel that the others are not trustworthy enough, although one of my blogs received 6 or 7 comments while the one that has been indexed only has the one. Of course it was made by the real person the blog was about. I'm not in Bootcamp but the basic training. What is your opinion?
I went through the Affiliate Bootcamp and now I'm doing the OEC. In my opinion, both are worth doing. I'm also thinking if I shouldn't start from the beginning as there is so much information there and it's easy to miss or skip something on the way.
I went thru the Bootcamp a second time and got so much more out of it the second time thru. And I built out 2 more sites while doing so.
What I am wondering is if I shouldn't start all over with the OEC training. I haven't even considered Bootcamp yet. I can write. That's not the problem. It's getting the technical stuff right that I'm having so much trouble with. I don't know. Today has not been a good day for me. Oh well--

You are on the right road, you are here like us because you want to learn. It is true that it can be a bit confusing sometimes. But the important thing is to stay on course and to talk to each other as you do when we need it. Once the storm passes, you'll be ready to go on again because you know why you're here and where you want to go.
