Local Marketing Update
Last night my dad sat me down and said he needed to speak with me. I thought it was time for one of his "what are you doing with your life" speeches. To my surprise, he just wanted to thank me for creating a website for his business!
If you haven't read one of my posts, I decided to give local marketing a shot by creating a simple website for my parents' business and drawing traffic to a lead capturing page. All I do is offer people a free quote in exchange for their information, forward it to my parents, and they do the rest. Obviously because they're my parents I don't charge them a dime; but if I did, I'd be making a nice commission.
Needless to say, my dad confessed to me that their small business was going through some tough times until I came along and started giving them leads. In his own weird way, my dad let me know he was proud of me. I was just ecstatic I got to help my family by applying something I learned here at WA.
The stuff here works guys... you just have to work at it.
Best of luck to all of you guys. I wish you as much success as I have had this last year and a half; and the success I will continue to have thanks to WA.

This is really an inspirational post Diana. Makes me also think about my parent's business. I have built them a website but they don't really give too much attention to it. hehe.
That is a wonderful life event and inspirational to us as well as your dad, glad things have picked up for them to.. well done
Thank you Katie! It feels amazing to be able help my parents' business grow without having to do much work.
it must do I am trying to help my youngest daughter now she has gone through a rough time and its just her and the two children now.. building for their future
Awesome post! Thank you for the inspiration. Since I am in school I am basically learning everything i can and applying what I can right now. I basically don't have time to write posts as much as I'd like since I'm just focusing on learning everything, but once I'm done I'm going to apply, apply, apply.
When you say offer them a free quote, what do you mean by that? How are you driving traffic to their page, through Twitter? :) I'm guessing local marketing is something different than internet marketing and can be learned in the "classrooms" section in WA?
That's awesome, just do your best to maintain some consistency with posting; even if it's just once a week.
What I mean by free quote is: my parents run a courier business where they charge people for deliveries by weight. The customer provides me with their details like name, phone number, email, item weight and destination; and my parents provide them with a quote of how much it will cost them to ship the item. It saves the customer the time it would take to actually shop different businesses for the best price and allows my parents a future potential customer.
The way I drive traffic is primarily thanks to the fact that it's a local business, there's really low competition to rank in the search engines for their business' keywords. I created four pages once, and haven't really updated it in a while. Plus I use PPC; but so far I've only spent $15 in two and a half months.

This just proves that the successes of WAers does not have to come directly from affiliate marketing. There are many branches that can be climbed upon to use the training within Internet Marketing. Regards Ken
Oh don't I know it! Yes affiliate marketing rocks, but there's still a lot left to learn and WA has it.
