Building and Hosting client sites at WA to pay your membership

Last Update: January 03, 2020

When people join Wealthy Affiliate for the first time, they always tend to worry about the membership fee and how they're going to pay it every month. Sure, you can go Yearly and cheapen it, but that's still $300+ over the year.

Here's what I did.

1. Stormed through the OEC course

This ensured I was competent in building and hosting websites to a sufficient standard to market myself.

2. Hustled on getting small website building jobs.

This meant I could then use a pincer-sale technique to either a) build it for the client or b) teach them how to do it themselves. If they chose a) we agreed a price, if they chose b) I introduced them to WA.

Most clients were 'time poor', so got me to do it for them.

3. I then built the sites for them, bought the domains and hosted the sites at WA. I charge them a yearly hosting and maintenance fee, paid in advance.

This then more than covered my WA membership fees, allowing me to 'live for free' here!

Newbies : All it takes is a little lateral thinking! There are really no barriers to succeeding with this platform, just be a little imaginative.

I have thought about this for a while...although my time is restrained by my 9-5 job I think I would be able to hustle some side business as well.

One question: Do you register your clients into WA and then they pay the fees to WA or do you provide them with a website through your own account and pay yourself?

No, retain total control. You host on your Premium account. They pay you directly. You need independence to set your own fees for the design/support service you will provide, and you must control it rigidly.

If they insist on control, then refer them to WA through your affiliate link to set up their own site.

This is good news for sure. I think it's worth trying, but first I need to become an expert in the business.
