Another little tip for your WooCommerce store

Last Update: January 10, 2020

Hi folks, I imagine sooooo many people here have started up with Amazon as their first affiliate partner and have set up a little WooCommerce store to sell affiliate products.

If you have, here's a little tip that I picked up the other weekend.

When you define your products, you paste in your affiliate link and then get the chance to set your price. With an Amazon affiliate relationship you aren't allowed to display prices on your website.

You may think this is a disadvantage, but you'd be wrong, it's actually a bonus for you. Why?

Well, if you change the text on the button from 'Buy Now' to something like 'Check Price', you force the visitor to click through to find out how much the product sells for, and when they do, they set the Amazon cookie on their computer.

This means that if they buy the product you'll get commission and if they buy anything else from Amazon within the life of the cookie (24hrs), you'll get commission for that too.

Without this change, a visitor may not ever set the cookie because they may reject the price without ever visiting the Amazon website.

Try it and see if it makes a difference for you. You should in theory see more clicks in your Amazon Associates Dashboard.

Cunning plan Dave. A plan so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Thank you.
