Introduction

If you are like many people, creating content is probably your biggest obstacle to success using the WA approach.

You aren't that good of a writer and cranking out even 100 words is a challenge much less 1,000! I get that.

First, let me say that if you really want this, producing content gets easier over time. Like any other skill, you really can improve with practice. However, there are a few other ways to make writing content a bit easier as you start out.

Change Your Approach

The first way to make writing content easier is by changing your approach.

Think of it more like having a conversation with a friend than a 1,000 word article. If you found a cool gadget to make your life easier, and you wanted to share that with your best friend, what would you say?

What do you like and don't like? What are the great features and more importantly WHY are these great features? What benefit does x or y feature provide?

Having a conversation with a friend will also make your writing more conversational. If your website visitors wanted to listen to a sales rep or sales pitch they wouldn't be coming to your blog.

Change Your Focus

A second way to make writing content easier is by changing your focus.

Instead of trying to sell, try to serve instead. Make it your mission to be the most genuinely helpful person on the Internet. Your job is to assist someone in making a good decision.

This means you have to take your "commission" out of the equation. I'm serious. Don't write to sell, write to help.

Change Your Method

If you have trouble writing, I can think of no worse enemy than the blank screen. Every minute that goes by only serves to reinforce whatever gremlins hide in your mind. Maybe you aren't cut out for this? Why would anyone listen to what you have to say? You suck at writing!

I've written about the importance of mindset in a another post so I won't repeat those principles here. The point is that you need to change your method.

Instead of starting at the screen, grab your smartphone and head outside for a walk.

Now, think about your friend (the one in the approach section) and all the helpful things you want to communicate (like I discussed in the focus section) and then record yourself for the next ten minutes.

Let it all out. Really get into why you like / don't like what you are recommending. (P.S. People will still buy through your link even if you are honestly critical of a product / service.)

Now come back, listen to the recording, and write that darn 1,000 word article!

Here's to your success!

At some stage writers block will come to visit, we do not want to become friends.

Conversation based posts do get engagement.

Really like your approach, I am a firm believer in the concept of if we can talk we can write.

Thanks for sharing.
Alex.
