Hi Dianne, What you have done here is just fantastic...Love it. What theme did you use If you don't mind me asking as you have given me some great ideas for my own niche.
Kind Regards
Bill
Could you do both? I really like the info you give in the post but I am thinking there would be much less in the directory. Giving value can only be viewed as a good thing - your site looks amazing - and I am sure you will be able to monetise this somehow!
Hi Dianne, I absolutely love your website, I think it's awesome! You have put a lot of hard work in to that site and it would be a shame to see it not give back. All the best keep up the great work.
Thank you so much for the kind words :) I always have had an issue where I give more than I get lol. I love helping, but it would definitely be nice to get paid for it!!
I think an affiliate directory is a great idea. That's the most recent thought I have for my newest domain - NicheAlpha/AlphaNiche (site in pre-development phase).
The "blog" will be how to/ helpful resources, but generally the plan is for NicheAlpha.com to be a search and discovery destination for proven affiliate programs. Most of which I hope to give a test run myself.
Again.. work in progress.
But I say go for it - let me know how things turn out.
Good Luck,

Thanks Dom! Yes, that's kind of my thought with this idea.. the question is do I join 50% + of the programs so I can make money off of anyone who joins through me? The thought of that is rather daunting, but probably could work.
Good luck with yours!
Just my opinion (it's the only one I've got!) - but I'd suggest you decide your niche first, which I think you've got covered. Next sort out how you intend to monetize it.
I'd be hard pressed to rationalize putting external links on my site and risk losing the traffic I worked so hard to acquire.
My 2¢ worth ;)
Dennis
Thanks Dennis, yes.. I am working on figuring out exactly how to monetize. That's kind of a work in progress, but I'm thinking that affiliate links will be added on reviews and other posts, so this may be the icing on the proverbial cake.
Perhaps I'll take some more time to consider things a whole lot more.
Appreciate your thoughts!!
Apologies Dianne - was your directory to be a listing of affiliate programs, or a listing of affiliate products you're monetizing?
Big difference!
Dennis
a listing of affiliate programs that Moms can join to make money online. That's what I'm working towards with the site anyway.. teaching moms to work at home with affiliate marketing, so I thought a directory of affiliate programs might be a good addition to the site. My posts will continue to promote products and services that I am an affiliate for (such as WA lol).
This is the site that I came across that made me think about adding a directory: http://www.greenaffiliateprograms.net/affiliate-programs-directory.html
Hi Dianne -
I wasn't aware you could earn money by referring new affiliates to affiliate programs. Learning something everyday!

** UPDATE **
I did figure out how to do this, and have posted instructions here:
I'm curious Dianne, WA will host near unlimited domains. Why would you change host servers. If I thought WA was going to go broke, I can see making the change, but as long as they are solvent, why change. Guess I'm missing something.
No, you're not really missing anything, I just happen to be a control freak and really didn't like not having access to cPanel or any kind of database control. For most people, WA hosting is fantastic, and I'm not knocking it at all... I'm just a little more experienced user.. I actually used to run my own hosting company, so I prefer to have control where I can get into the nitty gritty so to speak :)
Haha,I was reading the headlines of all blogs and questions to see if there are some who I could help or of any direct interest,
I just would send you this blog, when I realized it is one and the same writer:))) The Complete Guide To Moving Your Site Out Of WA
I would let the hosting site do the work for you Dianne, I changed one of my sites away from WA but did it the wrong way round and lost all the content, apparently the hosting should have been changed first then the dns, mind you having said all that I didnt have a backup personally, and because i had moved the dns to point to the new hosting WA couldnt provide the back up of the site
Dear Gdodd/Dianne: All this lingo is intimidating since I have no other experience with website building but what I have learned here...can we translate all this into real English language steps to follow...to get a site of our own with the identical material on it? Thanks a million guys ;=)
lol.. yes I was thinking the same thing :) I'm on the right path at the moment, so will put together something in the coming days :)

Just curious, but I've noticed a difference. The Blue button in the top bar shows one rank number, but my profile shows a lower number?
The left-most blue button. your following; the right-most darker blue button is your ranking.
There is too much data in this system for the servers to keep everthing up to the last second. The servers just can't do all that at once. So they probably run certain routines on a timer and update everything on a schedule.
It usually updates at end of the day. If you click on your profile, that rank is the most accurate up to date.

The latest post: Don't Post Affiliate Links On Pinterest
Hi Dianne,
I left comments on both posts. I am learning a lot from you! I like your infographics. I am going to incorporate some in my posts. What tool are you using for your post banners? Canva?
Will you please visit and comment on two of my posts?

Thank you,

Thanks Gina! And yes, Canva is the easiest to use. Love it! I use a custom size for my featured images :)
I found your comments on my site. Thanks so much Dianne! I recently started using Canva for some of my things. Great tool. Gina
Both post are very well done Diane! Left you a comment on the Pinterest post but at one point there is a period where there should be a comma! Great infographic! Perhaps if you can find the time you could visit this post of mine

Thank you! :)
Ah great catch thank you! I'll go find that and get it fixed lol. Thanks for leaving a comment too :) I will visit your post shortly and return the favor :)
Hi Dianne, I realized now that the nice graphics on your post is in fact from somebody's site and it is linked to it. I wonder if this is completely legal although you appear to do them a favor for free, and you add courtesy below the graphics.
Hi Jovo, I believe it is the NoFollow infographic that you are referring to. Yes, that is completely "legal" to do. I found the original graphic on Pinterest, and am linking back to the original post on their website. I am not stating that I am the owner of that content, as I'm not. I give credit to the originators of any content that I use if it's not my own.
Hope this helps :)
Be careful, if it is on Pinterest it does not mean it is free to use. With this logic you could use any picture from Amazon and give link, but if you are not affiliate this is illegal. It is up to you, I am only warning you.
I think I'm going to write my own blog post about this, but in the meantime, have a look at this one: http://www.1stqualitycontent.com/blog/how-to-re-post-someone-elses-infographic-on-your-blog/
You have to be very picky about other peoples content that you post on your website. But doing this once in a while is ok, providing you add quite a bit of your own content before the graphic.
I think these blog posts are so easy to read and full of helpful info. Seriously, they're something I would read (esp. the first one) and I have already learned some new tips from them. I have a feeling your blog is going to do very well. Good luck!

You have done very well. it is impressive and useful. By the way, what do you think, how many banners are enough?
That IS the question isn't it? It used to be that you wanted your main banner above the fold.. But now? Put your most important content near the top.. And if you need to add a banner or two, put them further down. That's just my opinion, but given that the "fold" is so different now between monitors, tablets, cell phones and even TVs.
Yes, it's true. Now-a-days,we are always trying to hide things that are undesirable to Googles and bots. But, how long?
I think you did a great job wow! I may need help in the future so I hope you don't mind me asking questions.
Good Afternoon Diane,
What's not to like with that post in any capacity?
I'm not the kind of person who simply puts throwaway comments about website contents such as "That's Really Great" for example, but I genuinely do think that article ticked every single box beautifully. Strong content throughout, professional spelling and grammar and nice presentation as well - plus I also like the image of the woman in your site logo.

Thank you for your kind words Simon! I'm definitely not one to just throw an article out there haphazardly, which is why it usually takes me several hours to put one together.. not exactly time effective, but hey.. if it works, then it works :)
I Like this article, it has some great tips and I'm going to be implementing a few in my marketing.
Thanks Dianne for writing this.
