Who Are You, Mr Metal Detector?
Just a very quick post to demonstrate the value of the websites you all create here at WA.
Today, I was asked by a client to create an article for a "bucket list" website, which essentially encourages people to follow their dreams before its too late. I have written a lot of these, he simply gives me a topic and I can take it in any direction I choose, which makes the task quick, easy and enjoyable.
Anyway, todays subject was metal detecting. Not the most ambitious or adventurous thing to have on a bucket list, but each to their own. As I began my research, I came across a site which had tons of useful information on it, basically everything I needed. As I started to read, I realised I had seen it somewhere before - yes, you guessed it, here on WA! I remembered offering feedback when it was a mere fledgling of a site and now I was using it for research.
It just goes to show that your germ of an idea can eventually evolve into something of use and value for others.
Just as an aside, he didn't have an "about me" page, so I can't trace him to say thank you.

Well, shame on him for not having an "about me" page. He probably won't see your praise. It is really nice to know that as time passes we DO become an authority in our niche, and folks will use us as a research source. How too cool! I like it...
Real nice stuff there. It's a hobby that allows you to meditate in a way. You become lost in your own world.
I love that your brain remembered, so useful. I recently saw a picture on an office cubicle wall ina TV series and recognised the picture. It was the same as one of the members here. Really had to put the grey matter into overdrive to track them down as I knew the face but could not remember the name. Hopefully you'll let us know if they materialise, that would connect all the dots nicely.
Good morning my friend, I so love writing to be able to create a new universe to give Hearts excitement, open the imagination of others even with the subject of a metal detector, you can create Joy by opening the the doors to new adventures of never before, what a beautiful thing. My reading the blogs of others have gave me many of times a Stairway to my writings. May you have a outstanding week my friend.
I wish you good fortune on your metal detector site, Diane. What would be useful is to see if material can be researched regarding sites that are mined out and still available down to the local level
That's the way it's going to be when we get all of our ideas on our sites and plus all the knowledge that we've accumulated over the years. That's because We have a long term work plan.
Metal detecting is awesome..if you get lucky you get to hold a piece of history that has been buried for decades or longer..heck i have even found a few gold nuggets with mine over the years.
Plus as mentioned below it is an excellent form of meditation
Keep digging
