So, after the excitement of yesterday, normal service has been resumed!

Honestly, I do my best to bring you helpful tips and tricks for your business, and my most popular posts in the years I have been here, are Partha's birthday, and my lockdown wedding!

Right, back to today's topic.

Hopefully, you all have Google Search Console set up, as it can provide some very useful information about how many clicks and impressions you are getting, what your click-through rate is and what keywords you are ranking for, etc.

However, how many of you have set it up and rarely look at it?

Did you know, that if your Search Console shows that you haven't logged in for a long time, it will stop collecting data?

So, when you do eventually log in, you may be sent into a panic as it could show no visitors!

Unfortunately, Google doesn't specify what a "long time" is, so perhaps to be on the safe side, you should make a point of logging in at least once a month.

Hi Diane,

This one is a great topic, as Google Search Console is an important tool for checking website stats.

I've gotten in the habit of checking GSC once a week. I do like to get an overview of my website's impressions and clicks every now and then.

But I agree it's an important tool to use, and one not to neglect. Maybe not now, but I'll use GSC and Google Analytics more often as my website matures and gets a lot more traffic down the road.

Thank you for sharing :)

Regards,

-Eric

While I was building out the services side of my online business, I was not focused on my website's analytics.
I noticed on a few occasions, that there was little or no data.

Now, as I am building out the Content Marketing side, I check into Google Analytics every week.
The data keeps getting denser.

I now understand why.

Thanks for sharing, Diane.

Don't worry Diane, I log into GSC and GA-4 via the phone app multiple times a day. It's the obsessive compulsive analytic part of me, I suppose.

All your helpful info and tips are great, but I so enjoy your wonderful sense of humor! I hope to see more of that side of you in future posts. 😊

Thanks for the heads up Diane! I went to my Google search console and I haven’t logged in for a very long time on top of I did not switch everything over to the new Ga4 from the UA even though I had it already I just didn’t switch over. Lol 😅 oh well. A well learned lesson. Thanks again !
