WA Referral Messages - An Important Change

So, this post is for those of you who promote WA and have set up a message campaign to welcome your new referrals.

As you know, all referrals receive a welcome message from Kyle within the first hour.

It used to contain the following information.

However, it now looks like this.

See the big difference?

Kyle no longer mentions the first-month discount and doesn't even add a link to the training.

So, if you have been relying on Kyle to discuss the pricing and where to start the lessons, he no longer does so.

You may wish to tweak your own messages in light of this.

This approach was discussed in the last Strategy Session, not sure if you caught that. It has been much better in terms of getting engagement, and getting people moving forward, which is the goal with newcomers (to build trust and establish that initial relationship).

The Premium membership is discussed within the training, within emails that go out, and within the order page. So this is something that is not "missing" by any means.

This is an improvement, and again, something that we have discussed in the latest strategy session.

Thank you for your clarification, much appreciated.

thank you for the information update, take care

Hey Diane!

Thank you for the heads up and thank you to Kyle for responding back.

I have always felt uncomfortable with presenting hard sells to new referrals. I would much rather have them first see and take action on the actual training (first 10 lessons) and decide from there.

Mind you, I signed up for the Premium membership within 4 days as a Starter member but that's just me. Spur of the moment person plus I enjoyed the training setup which made sense.

I appreciate you letting us know the change and I'll tweek my messages.

Thank you and have a blessed rest of the week, Diane.

Monica

Hi Diane, I realized the change around two weeks ago when I got a starter referral, and I did just what you are suggesting.

I was really glad for that change as I had always been uncomfortable with the "HOW TO CLAIM YOUR BONUS" part of the previous message.

I believe this change will pay off in terms of upgrades.

Thanks for sharing the update.

Diane, thank you for sharing this and for providing the opportunity for Kyle to clarify.

I really like the current shift in WA - from selling to support, servicing and establishing trust.
As Edwin stated, this creates a very engaging coaching nest to provide new members with the ease and understanding they need to learn and grow.

Have a great week!

Hi Diane,

Kyle is on the ball here. I have found that bonuses and promoting the training right upfront haven't helped me. Now I am focusing on building a relationship first before introducing the WA benefits. Even then, my main focus is on the mentoring, coaching, and assistance readily available to help members when they get stuck.

I got a new referral that way who upgraded to Premium within two days. Hence, I am hopeful this approach works.

My new WA review also focuses on this aspect. In fact, I tell my readers not to join if they are not serious about working hard and having the patience to see the results they desire.

I much rather have fewer referrals who are serious than many who do nothing and build false hope.

This is a paradigm change that I feel good about.

What do you think?

Cheers.

Edwin

Hi - I can definitely see the benefits of starting off on the right foot, with the emphasis on helping rather than selling.

I was just concerned that if there was no indication of where to go first, a link to the lessons, then perhaps it may be confusing for some, who didn't know where to start. However, I don't know what the initial welcome email says, so perhaps it's mentioned in there.

Good luck with your new approach.

I read in Edwin's post about the changes that Kyle had made, what a big difference!

So, I went to my messages and modified a couple of them. Much better feel to the first one.

I remember when I received that initial message from Kyle, and I was like, Whoa, man, I just got here...grin.

I'm sure I wasn't the only one who felt that way, so I designed my welcome message to simply be the welcome message. short, sweet and to the point!

I look forward to seeing what happens with the next few new referrals, perhaps they will become premium members!
