Use Unboxing Videos as Inspiration for Product Reviews
So, I have mentioned before that when it comes to product reviews, that Google expects them to be original and in-depth, not just a re-write of the Amazon description or copied content from your affiliate program.

But just how do you make your reviews more interesting, more unique, more authoritative than everybody else?
This is a particular problem when you don't actually own the product or have never used it.
You can't get a true feel of the product or actually see its pros and cons.
Here is a unique idea to increase your knowledge of a product - watch unboxing videos!
If you don't know what these are, you can find them on YouTube.
They typically feature somebody who has just bought a product and literally unpacks it in front of the camera.
You can actually see the true size of the product, how it is packaged, if it comes with instructions, how easy it is to put together, if it looks cheap or high-quality etc.
You can listen to a genuine first-hand review of the product that will have much more use and relevance than the Amazon description.
I hope this helps to raise the quality of your product reviews.

Hi Diane,
Great idea! One can also embed an unboxing video on a blog post if it enhances the content.
Cheers!

Very true, Diane! I watched an un-boxing video before I decided to purchase an antique rifle online! I was quite pleased with the one I received!

The little boy Ryan on YouTube is one of the highest viewed influencers and his highest views come from unboxing and reviews.
48 million altogether.
It definitely works!
Funny that I know this about him only because a couple of years ago my younger boy was a huge fan of his.
Christmas time he started selling these giant eggs that had unknown loot in them so that the kids could experience the unboxing themselves...we bought 2.
The other funny thing is that the idea never occurred to me.
Thank you for the great advice!!
Stephen

Hi Diane,
That’s an interesting idea. It’s another way to think outside the box, especially when it comes to product reviews.
We want to do the best we can to make our product reviews high-quality and original. So I think that’s another idea to help the reviews stand out.
I’ll have to try it myself- thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Eric
