So, just a very quick post to show you what Google is up to in terms of image creation.

It's called Imagen and is described as text to image.

Essentially, you will be able to type any text, and it will be turned into an image.

It's hard to describe, so take a look for yourself!

Hi, Diane

Yes, the tech that Google is calling Imagen was actually pioneered by Stephen Wolfram when he was developing his Wolfram Alpha and Mathematica platforms.

He began this back in the early 1980s, believe it or not! This formed the basis for some of the earliest statistical methods for image recognition, which he termed "cellular automata," and laid the foundation for machine learning.

If you would like to take a look, here is his publication that came out of the Institute of Advanced Study, in Princeton, New Jersey that was published in "Reviews of Modern Physics," 1983.

This work created the foundation of how machine learning and neural networks can effectively combine natural language processing (NLP) with graphic and photographic ontologies, which is the tech that is currently emerging!

I was lucky enough to hear Stephen speak when I was a biomedical engineering student at Brown University, something I will never forget.

If you have seen the 2016 film "Arrival," the director enlisted the help of Stephen and his son to create a plausible graphic concept for how the aliens (called "heptapods") in the movie communicate with the humans. Stephen took that concept to the next level and actually created a real system for an entire graphic-based alien language, a very small part of which was used in the movie.

You can check out the video explaining the basic process on the Wolfram site:

BTW I love your picture of the DeLorean! Just add 1.21 GigaWatts of power and a Flux Capacitor and off you go! 😊

Oh Wow! Interesting read.
Thanks for sharing,

So cool

Amazing! I wonder what next Google will come up with!

Interesting, Diane!
