Not Yet Switched from Google Analytics to GA4?

So, as you may be aware, Google Universal Analytics will no longer work after July 1 2023.

At this point, you will be forced to use the new GA4, whether you like it or not!

I know some of you are worried about this switch and haven't done anything about it yet.

Thankfully, Google has recognised that this could be a concern.

So, starting early next year, Google will create a new GA4 property for those of you who haven't begun the process, perhaps because you were worried you might mess everything up and disconnect your data.

It will be connected to your current Google Analytics, so everything will be ready for the big switch over.

And if you are a relatively new member, and don't know what I am talking about, you are probably already connected to the new system and don't need to do anything anyway.

Hey Diane - an old one revisited ...
a member asked about connecting a ga4 account today and i have found a way to get rid of that nag screen.....
under the ua account if you click on setup assistant and untick the automatically setup a ga4 account - then the nag screen won't appear ...
you must, obviously, connect a ga4 account - but this will stop google from creating yet another one for this property and causing even more confusion....
looks like you are having fun with the ai...

Thanks Phil, I will have a look!

i lied - it worked for a while but the message is back - only a couple of weeks till it is gone - hopefully...

I have the GA4 property connected, but I haven't actually used it or gone through the setup assistant.
Your post is a timely reminder for me to get on with it, so maybe I'll put that on the list for this week. It just doesn't feel urgent lol-
Are you already using it and if so, do you find it a good UX?

Hi - I have it running alongside the old Analytics for now so that I can get used to where to find the data.

That's what I will do too. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, Diane!

I think that’s a smart move on Google’s part.

Universal Google and GA-4 are on both my domains.

I suspect that most of the people who really use their analytics on a regular basis have already added GA-4 to make the switchover as smooth as possible.

Hi Diane, installed couple months back. Have a great weekend.

That's good to know, Diane! I don't have any analytics installed right now, so I guess I can just install GA4 on my own.
