The Fix Is In

Well, at least I have a good start on it.

I discovered I had a problem with the GA account (several websites but only some were affected) so i went through and fixed what needed to be done. The problems were my own doing. It happens, especially when the not-quite-techy in me wants to rush through "that stuff" to get to the things I prefer.

I've discovered that while I CAN do some tech things, it is still a stretch. Many times, I call upon my sons who actually find these things easy. They never cease to amaze me with their skills!

But then, my Dad was like that. Not with computers. He was definitely NOT into computers. But he could make an old car sing again, fix the house plumbing, and even build an amazing aquaponics system for me. He was a mechanic by trade, but had so many other skills including woodworking, farming, construction...to name just a few. He learned much from his Dad and taught himself the rest.

In fact, my Dad and a couple of his friends built our first house for us when my husband and I married. It was such an incredible home--not big, mind you, but strong and very well-built.

My oldest son is a lot like my Dad in oh so many ways. But, unlike my Dad, he can also manage techy stuff, as I call it. He just speaks that language. And he is completely self-taught! The internet is a close friend of his, of course. So much can be learned online. And he is quite adept at finding it.

Actually, all four of my sons have that techy side. And I am so thankful for it.

But back to my errors. I did fix the initial problems. I have more clean-up to do, but that will be over the next few days.

Do you ever find yourself back-tracking to fix things? Things that if you had been more careful the first time would have been done right and not required a day to go back and fix?

Thankfully, I don't rush through and make mistakes like these often. But when I do, I realize just how much time I wasted by not being more careful. And to think, I actually wrote another post about this very issue!

Hi Diane, even though I consider myself "a techie"... There are still mistakes that are made. And, yes they take me a little time to figure out as well.

So, even techies have issues with even the simplest of things. Mostly for the same reasons... trying to rush along to get something accomplished and that's when we mess up.

Taking my time to do stuff is always the best way to go along quicker. Thanks for the reminder. 😃

I wish you the best!
Bob

Your comment made me feel a little bit better about my own techy-issues. Thank you, Bob!

My pleasure, Diane. If you really think about it, everyone has their own issues... some just don't talk about them is all... cheers.

I do find that I need to go back and fix things. Also, as I update posts and or sites new errors are created, and they all seem to have a little finicky thing that is needed to fix them. Usually, it is something I have not seen before, and it takes time to fix.

You are not alone.

Alex

Thank you, Alex. That does ease the pain a bit! 🙂

Lessons learned every day on this WA journey Diane. The good part is that it can be fixed.

P.S. I know you've probably been asked this a million times but, where did you get your fairy signature? It's so cool!

Maria

There are a few different apps for signature. Mine was done at gif-mania.net -- it's a fun diversion!

Some lessons are learned over and over. I have found that to be true. Sometimes you just need a "refresher course" to recall what you already know. Tech is, for me, not at all easy, so I do understand.

Yes, Fran, sometimes I need that refresher reminder. But I'm glad others understand, too!

I know what you mean. That has happened to me

Thanks, Daniel. Maybe we need to remind each other more often 🙂
