Yes, I am Still Learning...

Continuous learning is the minimum requirement for success in any field. ---Brian Tracy

Why am I still on Wealthy Affiliate after so long? It's been almost 5 years. Haven't I learned enough yet? Some have even questioned whether the platform is worthwhile, given that I am still on it to continue learning.

My point to them is that I am on it because it is that good as a learning platform. And I know I am not all-knowing yet. I never will know everything. And I am ok with that. I accept that I am human. But I won't accept that I cannot learn anymore. Not at any age.

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. --Henry Ford

But that doesn't only apply to my studies at Wealthy Affiliate. In fact, I often find myself researching new things to learn all over the internet and still within books, too. I've commented that if I had had the internet when I was a student in school or college, I would have had so much fun! I love learning!

So when another project I have going on required me to use graphic skills I have not yet garnered, I set about finding ways to learn them. I need some basic ones quickly. But then have already made a plan to spend time learning them in more depth. I don't need the skills beyond basics for this project but there is no harm in learning them. I might find good use in the future!

I've found that with other skills before. If I am interested in something and learn it, I find it quite useful at some point in the future. Sure, I could get by without it if I never acquired the skill, but with it, I can do so much more.

That's true of much in life. I've learned to make some incredible culinary delights. My family might have been happy with everyday meals. But they sure do appreciate those that are brimming with extra flavors and a new twist. Store-bought bread is good. But my Mom made sure I knew how to make so many types of breads and other baked goods... and homemade, with our own flavors laced within...THAT is excellent!

How about you? Do you enjoy learning? Have you found value in learning new skills and techniques?

Never become so much of an expert that you stop gaining expertise. View life as a continuous learning experience. --Denis Waitley

With the different interests that our members have, oftentimes checking in to WA is like reading a newspaper. You find out what is causing problems, what is updated or outdated or not useful or the latest wonder.

Then there is the human interest stuff, the fun stuff- practical and unpractical. Thank you my network members for sharing.
Sami

That's a good point, too, Sami. Even if you don't learn something new about affiliate marketing each day, it is a wonderful way to keep updated on so much more, too!

Hi Diane,
I totally agree with you here, I learn all over the internet, not just here in WA. Had the opportunity of computers been in school when I attended I'm not sure what I'd be doing today.

My first computer was in the 90's and it had a dot matrix printer, I had no idea what to do with the thing. It had Windows 95 that I later upgraded to 98. My buddy wanted to sell the PC, so I traded him an old outboard motor for it.

Not long after I was hearing, "you've got mail". I'd purposely drive around finding stores with free AOL disks then go home and spend weeks online. On free dial-up no less...

Back then I could go get some chips and a drink while I waited for pages to load...lol However, I never knew how a site worked, I just liked learning the PC and the games.
Today I like learning here in WA, and I also do other courses, like free code camp.

Great post, I still crave learning new information and skills every day.

Hi Diane
I’m totally with you on this. For me it’s to do with the quality of life as opposed to any particular part of life.

I find that curiosity is the main source for keeping energy levels up. It is well proven that new learning leads to increased neuroplasticity at any age.

So it’s fun, good for our brains, generates energy and helps to keep us young. What more could we want!
:-)
Richard

That's so true, Richard! We'll keep our brains young and energized!

Each and everyday we all learn something new Diane!

It matters not how old we all are, learning keeps our brains young, and we can never learn everything.

Here at WA, the opportunity to learn is infinite, and I for one love every minute of it!

Have a fabulous day my friend!:-)

Yes, I enjoy it, too, Nick.
Thanks and I hope your day is wonderful, too!

Much appreciated my good friend!

Very true words mom, I learn new things everyday and sometimes it's scary to learn and sometimes it's so cool to know something i had never knew before! one thing i have used is a plugin for my socials on my site, and that made me go "Oh i know what other sites do for this!" And it makes me all giddy to learn something like that!

Never stop learning, everyone. It's so much fun!

Always more to learn and it keeps life exciting!

Very true.
