Slow and Steady, I go slow to go fastToday I was back on schedule. Well, sort of. I had other projects to do before I could do much on my own websites. But I tackled them, one at a time. And while I did not get much time on my own sites today, I did manage to clear some other projects which will then allow me more time on my sites tomorrow.Life is like that, at least for me. I wear many hats. And sometimes I just need to chip away, bit by bit, one at a time.Slow and steady.I do get ahead of mys
That's what it feels like today. I'm not complaining, but maybe just venting a little (please forgive the vent)Today is a bit more difficult to put much into my sites. Oh, I have been working on them. But I am trying to focus on the sites while Fire sleeps rather peacefully next to me. Remember I said she had some problems? vet called with the biopsy results and it is carcinoma lung cancer. Thankfully, it's primary and doesn't lo
The Value in Lemons when you Plant the Lemon OrchardYou have no doubt heard the saying, When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.Simply put, when things are not going well, turn it into something good. Take the bitterness of life and make it a positive function.Another quote that is similar that I like is...“When life gives you lemons, plant its seeds, grow yourself an orchard, sell it to Sunkist. Carry on.”– José N. HarrisI think this one pertains to our niche sites.H

This morning, as I was researching keywords for future posts, I discovered something quite wonderful!SURPRISE!Yes, it was a surprise, and happily so.One of my websites, one I had not been giving enough attention to as of late, has several posts on page one of Google!Even better, a couple of them made it to the number 2 spot, right under an ad and ahead of some pretty big authority site posts. This means a few things to me.1- I need to spend more time checking my post rankings to ensure I keep on
By Necessity, today's path is different...One of my furkids, Fire, was referred to a cancer treatment center for what they suspect is lung cancer. We'll know the results of the needle biopsy on Monday. I'm hoping for good results! But whatever comes back, I am quite thankful Fire is sleeping beside me as I write this. So, instead of my usual routine of website work, I started the day (after coffee, of course) with a trip to the cancer center. It's said to be one of the best in the country and th

Yes, I am Still Learning...Continuous learning is the minimum requirement for success in any field. ---Brian TracyWhy am I still on Wealthy Affiliate after so long? It's been almost 5 years. Haven't I learned enough yet? Some have even questioned whether the platform is worthwhile, given that I am still on it to continue learning. My point to them is that I am on it because it is that good as a learning platform. And I know I am not all-knowing yet. I never will know everything. And I am ok wit

Good Support is Essential!Just a short but important THANK YOU to everyone here at Wealthy Affiliate who aids in support. That includes the support segment (some unnamed incredibly quick and helpful techies!), and Kyle and Carson.Today's little glitch on Live Chat was just one more example of the Incredible Support Team at Wealthy Affiliate. But I also include members who offer help and support to one another. Ask a question and several members usually respond. Need a bit more explanation on so

What do you do to keep your focus? So often we make our plans, only to find ourselves detouring. It might be the "shiny object syndrome" that causes it. Maybe it's just having a multi-task mindset (that's my problem!) Sometimes I think it might be a short attention span or the hope of instant success.Whatever the reason, losing focus takes us off the intended path. And that slows or stops our progress.I think Jack Canfield's quote says it well...Successful people maintain a positive focus in life
April Showers Bring May Flowers, as the saying goesAnd so it is with affiliate sites, too. Today is the last day of April. Have you been showering your websites this past month? As any gardener knows, rain is essential to bring forth beautiful flowers, vegetables, and fruit. Some will bloom in May. Others need more time to mature. But with watering and care, they will bloom! However, remember that it's not just water and forget. You need to continue providing the care and nutrients your site need

Do You Struggle?Maybe you aren't the best writer.Does SEO make your brain do flip-flops?Perhaps you struggle with coming up with topics.Or maybe social media is the bane you dread.I often hear from WA members who are struggling with one or more aspects. Some feel like just giving up. My advice?Don't give up!One quote that I often share is:“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” – Tim NotkeYou don't have to be a best-selling author to write good copy. And
