Today I nuked my domain and created a new one.

I'm brand new, and I did things in the wrong order. I should have researched keywords before I selected my niche and domain name. Consequently, I had a domain name that was far too narrow and the keywords that came up didn't fit it. Today, I created a new domain and moved my site over to it. I'm satisfied with the domain name and look forward to developing the site.

I hope not to make the same mistake again.

You have made a wise decision Diana.

Derek

Thank you, Derek.

A wise decision. Jim

Glad you caught this early. Good job indeed!

Edwin

Thanks, Edwin.

It is normal. Happened to me several times. Key thing to note is not to get “hung up” on it until you cannot move. Just keep going...

Thank you, Stanley.

Very common, Diana, for people to change their minds or their niche, especially in the beginning. Glad you found a new domain that you feel good about and are excited to move forward!

Thank you, Cris. I just feel bad that I wasted the money. Money doesn't grow on my tree. :)

Diana

I hear ya! You're not alone. Most of us here start out as free members, then upgrade, then try to get through training asap to start making money. Even the small costs can be hard. You did what you knew you needed to do. Now you can push that aside and move on. Onward and upward! :-)

woo, woo, hold the phone for a minute. Before you deleted the domain name, you do understand keywords in the domain are not going to rank or index. . Its your content that is going to rank. You put your keyword in the title of your articles,, and then that same keyword goes in the first paragraph. of that article.. A Domain name is just that. Its a name I thought the same thing too when i first started. If you delete the domain name simply because you dont like it, thats okay, but dont delete the domain because the keywords dont fit. in it. I hope this has helped a bit..

After creating the domain and doing the keyword search, I realized my arena was too narrow. Because my domain name was so narrow, I was afraid that people would see it, think "I'm not looking for that", and search elsewhere. I didn't expect the domain name to rank. Because I'm new, I don't think there was enough time for me to rank on Google, so after I forwarded to the new domain, I just took off the forwarders.

Thanks for the feedback!

Diana

A narrow domain is also good, because its easy to remember. Being easy to remember is also key.I wish you well.

Thank you, Doug. :)

Live and learn. That's life. Good luck.
