If Target and Home depot can be hacked, there no reason why it couldn't happen to me.
So, I wonder...what is my liability if credit card numbers are stolen in a security b
Devin,
Here is a .pdf that outlines the merchant agreement for Visa
http://usa.visa.com/download/merchants/card-acceptance-guidelines-for-visa-merchants.pdf
On page 64 they cover Steps and Requirements for Compromised Entities
I hope this information helps you, I would imagine you can find the same for the other credit cards.
My background is Network and IT Security, when it comes to serious hacking it is usually a numbers game. Any serious hacker worth his weight in code, is after the Multi-Million account databases.
If you are really concerned, do not retain customers credit card information, that will help a lot.
I hope this helps and if you need more clarification, let me know, my best to your success,
Gary
I am managing several websites now. We are considering accepting credit card payments on a couple of them.
Thank you for that information. You have confirmed what I suspected. And I will do a bit more research before deciding.
Thanks again!
your question would need a lawyer to answer,
best thing to do is use a payment processing company such as PayPal to process cards on your site, that way both you and your paying customers are protected

I just got a call from my mom. She said my website was scrolling up and down on its own. We checked other computers and other browsers. That narrowed it down to Sandboxed Fire
That's odd! I can't help much other than to say I now do all my work on a chromebook which is sandboxed and I've had no problems, or had any reported to me. Hope you get it sorted!
Has anyone had problems with sandboxed browsers?

I can't figure out why I see new sessions and new users but the session time is zero.
I believe this means that people are finding you but their bouncing out of your sight immediately. See your bounce rate is 100%.
Can someone help me in google analytics?

These two article were #1 and #2 results.
Looks like 2 different articles to me, #1 is comparing DTS 5.1 against 7.1, while the second article is comparing 7.1 against 9.1.
The directory structure is quite different in both articles, indicating that there had been a major upgrade since the first article was written and the author has a new permalink structure.
Nothing genius, nothing shady, looks legit from where I am sitting.
Thanks, I see where you are coming from. It just struck me as a borderline activity because his second post adds no value. Its just a different introduction for the first article.
Hi. My first instinct is to say it isn't shady at all and just a way to drive traffic in a certain direction, but I'm new to this so I'll be interested to hear what other people have to say!
