Troubles with FTP Connections? Please Help!

Hi all,

I just got started using WA as my website host for my new site. I've been working with website management for several years so I am very familiar with how to work FTP clients, and it is a staple in several tasks I need to do with my website work, whether adding a new theme or uploading verification files - FTP just makes these tasks so much easier.

That being said, I have been having the toughest time getting FTP to work for my WA site. I have tried reaching out to support about it but they eventually just told me to "try another computer" since the instructions they gave me of trying "active mode" didn't work. In my opinion, that isn't an acceptable solution as I only have one (brand new) computer and am not going to buy another one just to see if I can get FTP to work. I am very familiar with both Filezilla & CyberDuck (I much prefer CyberDuck) but can't get a good connection to my FTP with either client.

Has anyone run into FTP issues and found a fix for working on FTP with their WA sites?

I don't know much about FTP but I tried it once and I found that the problem I had was about a firewall in my own internet connection. I had an xfinity internet at that time and I removed the firewall or disabled it then I tried to connect to FTP and I was able to do so. Try to disable your internet firewall to see if that works.

I will see if I can add WA to the firewall whitelist. Thanks Ace!
