A comparison of my WA activities with those of Gestapo exceed any limit of civilized norms and values and is for me reason to exclude a fellow member from my WA network. But how
To send Kyle a private message, you need to go to his profile, then click on send private message.
Then choose "other inquiry", then type something in the search bar, then type your message and then click on "Contact Kyle Privately".
:)
Hi Moritz. I've sent Kyle an email and wait for his response. If his answer remains, I'll certainly follow your useful instructions.
Thanks again,
Desmond
Did you try sending your PM to Kyle from his profile page? I have been able to contact him without difficulty by going to his profile page and clicking on 'Private Message' there. It takes a while for him to respond as he has so many messages every day but he always does respond. ~Marion
Hi Marion, that's a good one, didn't think about that. I've already sent Kyle a personal email, but I'll also check his profile page and send him a PM.
Thanks for your comment, useful as always,
Desmond
Send an email to the address Matt has given to you instead of a private message. Make the subject title something like 'Abuse Report" or something that will catch Kyle's attention, as I'm sure he gets lots of emails. ~Jude
Try him on his email address:
kyle@wealthyaffiliate.com
I have used this before and he was quick as ever to respond. Hope you manage to get it sorted,
Matthew
Desmond, just go to PM, Kyle/Carson, press other topics and explain the issue. This should work, as it worked for me before. Cheers, Jerry
Hi Jerry, that's exactly where it get stucked, after pressing 'other topics' and explaining the issue, nothing happens, although I repeated my attempt several times. For WA I work on my home desktop, an old 'still going strong' XP haha.. but I'll try it again on my Windows 8 notebook, using for my field work.
Thanks for your reply,
Desmond
I have experienced the same thing trying to send a PM to Kyle in the past, Desmond. It is like you get lost in the system filter, or something.
Kim
Indeed Kim, but as you read in this comment thread some fellow members offered a few alternatives to reach out to Kyle. But it's good to hear that I'm not the only one struggling and it might be enough reason to get WA improved reg. communication with its management.
Thanks for your info,
Desmond
Hello Des,
Fortunately I have not had the same experience (yet), but I suppose my day is still coming.
I agree with previous comments shown below.
A while back we had quite a long debate about hitting the spam button, but in this care I also suggest that Kyle and the team should be made aware of this situation, and they will deal with it in the appropriate manner.
Stay safe my friend.

Absolutely report it to Kyle or Carson privately. Good luck and stay with it, and let us know the results!
Hi Linda, I've tried to send both of them a private message, but it seems not to work cause my question seems not to match with the regular technical questions. But I hope they'll notice my question at the WA Platform. There is a button against spam but there should be one also against personal abuse, in my opinion.
The worst is that the comment has been 'liked' by other fellow members, which means that more members within our WA community support this kind of despicable statements. Very disappointing.
Thanks for your response,
Desmond
Desmond what do you mean by 'reqular technical questions'. That shouldn't matter here. I often do PM with no technical stuff.
Desmond some people have what you call no class. I am sure I know what you are referring to, and these kinds of people do not, and it is best that you do not respond to such people. I think you are doing the right thing of putting it out there on the platform. I am sorry that this has happened to you. Thank you for sharing this kind of behavior, and I am sure Kyle and Carson will do something or at least give them some kind of warning.
Hi Helen, those 3 'question blocks' or filter, only appear if you send a PM to Kyle or Carson, not to other members. Just try it out and you'll see.
Desmond
We all have different reasons to study at WA, but most of us have the same goal. We are a professional group of friends even though we don't know each other personally. Despite differences of opinions there should be no room within WA for incriminating statements against fellow members.
Thanks for your kind support Linda, most appreciated.
Desmond
Yep Gary, I've tried it more than once but unfortunately without success. I've just sent Kyle an email about the issue, awaiting his reponse.
Thanks for your support,
Desmond
I just did a dummy PM in my profile area and didn't get a box with Kyle. I didn't want to send it as it was goobledegook! Try doing one in your profile area. And if this doesn't work just pick any question box and when you type your stuff in say 'I know this isn't the right place but it's the only way I can send this to you'.
Thanks for sorting this out Helen, most appreciated. I've already sent Kyle an email and await his response, but I'll certainly try out the 'goobledegook' way, just to know all ins and outs here at WA.
Have a great day,
Desmond
Just write Kyle or Carson a private message.
You still have the comment in the SiteComments?
If not you wouldn't have any proof of what happened.

I agree with you Rufat, however the problem is HOW I can send my message to him, using the message icon and so on. As soon as I write Kyle's name, three blocks appear to filter my question. After writing down my question, nothing happens, the question is not been sent.
But I hope this issue on the WA platform will catch their attention.
Thanks for your reply,
Desmond
I'm sorry, I think you are doing it wrong. In the first blank window you write your subject and in the second window at the bottom you write your message and then click on the submit button. It works.
Ok Rufat, I'll try it out again on my Windows 8 notebook, cause I still use my oldfashioned but 'still going strong' XP desktop for my WA course, but some buttons (and perhaps also other WA tools) are not seen on my desktop.
Thanks again for your reply,
Desmond
Yep Rufat, I forgot to mention that I work with 3 different browsers, but my WA course I manage with Mozilla Firefox. I'll try out all options you mentioned.
Thanks a lot,
Desmond

How can I report a comment as offending and not appropriate?
A comparison of my WA activities with those of Gestapo exceed any limit of civilized norms and values and is for me reason to exclude a fellow member from my WA network. But how
I know what you mean, although my one incident could not be compared to "Gestapo"... but it was blunt and left the impression that I was offending my target audience. I thought at the time it could have been softer... :-( I also know having a degree in writing, that the written word lacks two vital things conversation has: tone and body posture; so I excused this ignorant comment as poor choice of words.
Thanks for sharing a similar experience Esther, most appreciated. "Two in distress make sorrow less", as they say. Within WA there are many people with different backgrounds and from all walks of life, so there is a good chance that someone going through the same thing. Let's learn lessons from it.

Yep Loes, and I feel so sorry for all those members who will leave her a well intended welcome message for nothing, just wasting their time. Desmond.
I understand, and I don't ask for give a warm welcome to referrals anymore, who haven't filled out their profile.
Fully agree Loes, by completing their profile new members seems more reliable and we know to and about whome we're talking about. Desmond
Likewise William, thanks for the invite, much appreciated. Wish you success in all your online endeavours and let's stay in touch, Desmond. We are here to help!
For a newbie this is a great discussion, but much is up in the air. Could be or not hard to call and not do something innocently wrong!
William
Hi, Desmond, just did some investigation. Sorry about my earlier comment, I thought she was your referral. It will iron out eventually, especially if she cannot receive private messages as I have noticed.
Bishop
No she isn't Bishop, no problem. Please note that non-premium members can't receive or send PM's. Desmond
Also I have seen many people putting links to there sites on here. Many of them, don't know if there has been any fall out over it. To me it's all in the same can. Please tell me where I'm wrong, thanks!
W
Hi William, most of those people are all registrated premium members who are entitled to post or publish their websites within WA, subsequently asking for reviews / comments. It's all in the WA learning process. Hope you see the difference? Desmond
Desmond thank you for the explanation very helpful! I still think there is a thin line here, just by the comments. Again thank you for getting back to me. :)
W
Is good that you focus, but I would just leave her on her own and focus of getting more through your pipe. If you know what I mean? She will be found out eventually if she is one.
:) Bishop
You're absolutely right Bishop, but I feel so sorry for all those members who leave her a well-meant welcome message for nothing, just wasting their time. Desmond.
I see by the comments here this could swing both ways, very hard to know what to do as a newbie.
W
Thanks Jovo, fortunately I'm not the only member who sees through this malpractise. BTW: I don't see any button below the title (blue gear)?
Hi William, as newbie perhaps better not to spend too much time on this. I have to admit that this seldom happens, hence my question. Desmond
Hi William,
Spam is email that is unrequested or unwanted and can often introduce a scam. A scam is when someone tries to cheat you out of your money by unethical means, like trying to fool you into sending them a large sum of money and then giving you very little or nothing in return. I suggest that this is spam rather than scam.
Desmond
It could be spam but as San says she is at this point just saying who she is and if she starts pm a lot of people they will report it,, you can also just drop a pm to Kyle or Carson
Not so sure that is spam yet, she is not advertising just telling you what it is she does and if you want to know more ask.
San
Hi San
Whats the difference if you ask someone to look ur site over to see where improvements could be made?. Especially if it's your 1st one
W
No difference really, I am not saying that is spamming I am saying that what she wrote is no different than you asking me to look at your site and at what you are promoting. That is all.
San
It is certainly confusing to me! I guess better not to ask and stay out of trouble! lol I do see your point about being on the edge with this. Then if your having an issue with your site getting help may be tricky.
William
NO! If you are having an issue with your site you should always ask and ask plenty. Please do not misunderstand me.
It is not spamming people to ask for their help with your site, EVER!
Spamming is when you send people PM's with requests to do something where the sender will profit from it and that is not allowed.
I was just pointing out that she said she was involved in a business and that if you wanted to know more about it then ask. I do not find that to be spam.
Asking someone to read your article about something you are trying to sell and then leave a comment that is pertinent is really no different than saying this is what I do, if you want to know more let me know. That is the only comparison here.
Never stop asking questions or for help with learning here, always ask and learn.
Best motto about spam is if you think it is, it probably is so don't do it.
But if you report spam, make sure that is what it is because if it isn't then you have offended someone and that is a uncomfortable position to be in.
San
Most should know we don't market each other, but rather try to help one another.
Very sticky thing here. What if you were to ask someone to check your blog out to see where you can improve writing skills? Is that close to this issue?
W
No, it is not. Because you are wanting information about how to do something not trying to get my to buy into something and profit from it.
San
Hi San, it's no point to ask her anything cause she didn't respond to more than 20 welcome messages from 10 days ago till today, including the messages of Kyle and her referral Robert-A.
Hi San, telling about your background is absolutely different than promoting the company you work for, and that's what she's doing, leaving all the welcome messages unanswered for over 10 days. Reeks of spam don't you think? Desmond
It is borderline yes, but she is not really advertising other than to say that is what she is doing and if you want to know more just ask. But then again, you could swing the other way and say she is asking us to check out her business.
Aren't you doing that when you ask someone to review your site as well?
Just an opinion, if you think it is spam report it to Kyle and let those who make the decisions decide. I for one can take it or leave as it is.

How, exactly does one "receive" the credit, with their Affiliate Link? I understand the cut and paste part. Also, I can see it being "utilized" in an email. Though, how would it be best utilized to channel the credit? Jess
If you just want to link your personal profile page as an affiliate link then just copy/paste the URL to your profile.
Here is my link: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/parre
When you copy/paste your profile page link, you'll get the credit for the referral when they sign up.
I hope I've helped and understood what you're trying to do!
Hi Colton, it seems a technical problem which occur on my desktop only. If I click on the affiliate link using my laptop my profile link underneath appears. Now I understand the referral issues. Many thanks, Desmond.
I am not sure I am understanding right but am guessing you are trying to click on the link on your profile at WA ?
If so you can't click on it, it's only made so you can copy and paste it on your website or anywhere else.
After you do that, if you click on your affiliate link that you copy and paste on your website it is going to bring you here.
This is how you can get referalls, it is going to bring them to your profile.
Hope this helps !
Hi Emile, thanks for your suggestion. However, I tried to copy and paste it but after I clicked on the affiliate button the copy/paste function doesn't occur. So, I can't click in it but also not copy and paste it, so it seems the affiliate button doesn't work like it should be?
If I click on the Affiliate link on this page and copy it then use that link in a social media post, and email or any other communication when a person clicks on that link and comes to WA that person will be cookied to me and I will get credit if that person joins WA.
Am I mistaken?
The affiliate link on your profile is how you introduce people to WA. When you have them click through to WA using your affiliate link the system identifies you as the person who invited them and they will be in your downline when they join WA.
Thanks for your suggestion Bill, but if I click on the Affiliate link, even on this page, again no link occur. So, what can I do?
Yep Bill, I fully understand the method / the meaning of the affiliate link, but it seems not to work on my profile pages, and I wish I know why?.
When you click on the affiliate link a popup shows you that link. Copy it and paste it in social media, email or anyplace else you want to invite people to view the page.
If you have a popup blocker activated you may not get the popup. Just a guess.
Indeed Bill, it indeed was a technical problem which occur on my desktop computer only, perhaps due to a popup blocker?. All referral issues work well on my laptop. Thanks for your time and kind support, much appreciated. Desmond.
if you for example do a post and use your link from WA and they decide to join WA then you would receive commission on that
Thanks for the explanation Catherine, all seems clear to me now and the referral issue solved. Grateful thanks for your kind support, much appreciated, Desmond.
I'm not highly skilled in technical matters, so my advice could be dangerous. :)
I suggest you try and contact one of the top members via PM and ask for help, or submit a support ticket.
Best of luck to you with this.
Theuns
Yes Theuns, it indeed was a technical problem which occur on my desktop computer only. All referral issues work well on my laptop. Thanks for your time and support, Desmond.
Hey Des,
Glad you figured it out. Now you can get it all sorted out I assume.
Good luck and have a great weekend.
-Theuns
It is there to let you know what your general affiliate link is, that you can give to other people, when you are logged in to WA.
Hmm I would contact technical support on this. Sounds like your button may be messed up on your profile.
Hi Loes, it seems a technical problem which occur on my desktop only. Using my laptop I can copy and paste it into the browser now. Many thanks, Desmond.
You're right Adrian, it was a technical problem on my desktop computer, using my laptop everything works now. Thanks for your time and support, Desmond.
This is on every page at Wealthy Affiliate.
If you want your potential referrals to come direct to your profile page then that is the link you use. Same applies to all the other pages. :)
Actually Kathy, for the other pages in WA, the affiliate links direct to that particular page. (Unless that's what you meant by "same applies for all the other pages")
For example, there is an affiliate link button on this page that if I take that and post it on Facebook or somewhere else, it will show people this discussion directly.
The only exception to the above is the affiliate link on the profile page which links to the welcome to WA page and not the profile page.
For people to link to your profile page, your url on the top of the address bar will serve as the link to use to direct to your profile page.
Adrian
That's what I meant, each affiliate link goes to the page you take it from. Thanks for the clarification. :)
When you click on it, you should see a long link underneath. This the link you need for referrals. Here is a screenshot. http://screencast.com/t/f6SqXdZLnaZ
Thanks for your example Kathy, but still no link occur. My website is still under construction, has it something to do with that?
No, it's nothing to do with your website. Are you on your profile page when you try and click the link?
Hi Kathy, it seems a technical problem which occur on my desktop only. If I click on the affiliate link using my laptop my profile link underneath appears. Now I understand the referral issues. Thanks so much, Desmond.

A WA app could improve my accessibility to my course wherever I am.
The one free to download on the App store has not been updated lately and is slow. All of the pages do not work and it is not supported by WA. Can be used on all Android devices. I do not use it because I can get everything using Wi-Fi on my phone.
I get it on Safari on my iphone just fine and my ipad also. Works just as well as here on the pc. I just cant see my notices sometimes. I can still watch the videos, everything else I can do here on pc.
Google Play Store has a free one. You can search "wealthy affiliate" for it.
The screen's too small on my phone so I just tried and deleted it. The app may work well on a larger screen size (or if your eyes are better than mine).
I don't know about the Apple store but the Google store has it for free. it's a little slow. I don't use it.

Take care and thanks again,
Desmond
Glad to lesson your angst.... :-)
