The Wishing Well

Have you ever thrown a coin in the famous Tivoli fountain in Rome? Or thrown a coin into a wishing well for good luck?

Do you remember the wishing upon a star poem you may have learned as a child, "Star light, star bright, first star I've seen tonight. I wish, I wish, I wish I might get what I wish I want tonight?"

Unfortunately many people live under the illusion that life is just a matter of chance or blind luck. I forgot who said it, some great writer, "BlindPeople always believe in luck. I don't believe in luck I'Il go out and make my own luck" and another who said, "The harder I work, the luckier I get."

Well, here I go again, typing as fast as I can on my new keyboard about this all too prevalent grossly, over exaggerated myth called "Luck."

Blind people wish upon a well, treasure rabbit's feet, upside down horseshoes, lucky charms, lottery tickets with their lucky numbers. They are afraid of black cats in their path, of walking under ladders and the terrible unlucky number 13. Even hotels eliminate the number 13 from their 13th floor and the number 13 on their guest rooms.

Blind people read their horoscopes and live by this every day. You must get married with the clock hands moving forward. The groom must not see the bride in her wedding gown before the ceremony. The pastor must be handsome, like me. Witch curses, goblins, good and bad fairy witches, magic slippers. Should I go on? Or would you be embarrassed to say that you also believe in blind luck, hoping you will be lucky enough to receive the wish you made upon a star one dark and stormy night?

The only way that you will be successful at anything which includes making money online is by hard work and a lot of it.

I will say it again. Do the lessons beginning at the beginning and proceeding as you learn and do each lesson. Don't do what I did; Skip and fail to learn. Don't try to build the Affiliate Marketing wheel again with your own thoughts and ideas. Kyle and Carson have already built it. Your job, if you want to be successful is to follow them and learn everything here at Wealthy Affiliate. That is what I am doing after making many mistakes.

Whoa, I just thought, while typing this post, of another article I am going to write soon. The absolute necessity of failing your way to success. I know others have already written about this here and elsewhere, but it needs saying again. When a person fails that is a part of life. Whoops I think I already started a post about this in site content. Have to go back find it, and complete it.

If you live your life believing in the grand delusion of "luck", you will never succeed at anything worthwhile.

The purpose of this post is to encourage you to get off your backside and start making your own"Luck."

OK. Do it now. Go to your keyboard, type in your Jaaxy keyword and start writing.

This is a short post. I am getting tired. My second post this morning. Abraham Lincoln who was a tall man, was once asked how long a man's legs should be. He replied "I suppose, long enough to reach the ground."

So this post surely is long enough to encourage someone to work hard and to stop believing in the blind myth called "Luck."

Thanks Pastor Derry!

There are many who come to WA looking to make a quick buck. When that sadly doesn't happen they swear blasphemy and say WA is an MLM scheme or other such nonsense.
No matter which path you take on your journey to success whether it be online or at a brick and mortar business, you need to work at it.
Success is a boomerang: what you give, you get back.

Great reply Amy. I agree 100%

Hi Derry,
I have always believed in and lived by: "The harder I work, the luckier I get." And what you say is true, the WA training is the track to success coupled with a lot of hard work! Great post, keep up the good work! Here's to our success!
