HI WA'rriors and WA'rriorettes

I keep hearing it...

"My Site is slow!"

"Wealthy Affiliate servers are shoddy"

"My site is is Wealthy Affiliate hosted and its slow" "

Such poor quality hosting!...

Cheap slow second rate hosting that is just uggh..over crowded...I mean all members can host up to 25 of their sites plus 25 siterubix ...sooo overloaded...

OMG....and the newbies...that have no idea wha they are doing a loading their sites with huge images and video...

..gotta be the servers right?

Gotta be Kyle/Carson fault...right?

Your slow site gotta be the host's fault...right?

Wrong!

And in all seriousness you could nt be further from the truth!.

In fact most people that say that I tell'em to F.O....

....(That's Frontend Optimisation!)

Checked my speed today after doing a bit of optimisation myself..

8ms short of lading in under 100ms!

Yep,

You read that right.. loading in 107ms!

Any faster...gonna get a speeding ticket!.

Enough said really!.

Get a grip and get a handle on site speed and front end optimisation!. Skill that can be learned, and understand it is a process and not an event, a little like SEO..its is ongoing.

Anyway, the end of this short blog post..and time for me to tell Y'all to go F.O!

(Go do some Frontend Optimization!).

Derek,

I loved this! Haha🤣 effing off too fun

F.O NOT eff off!

What's Front end Optimisation? I have an article that experiences a MAJOR speed issue, like it's loading for 2 mins or so.

I'll be honest, WA site support is great in many ways, except in answering the site speed questions...

I'm getting so annoyed that I'm considering a different hosting. Because my theme is light, images are optimized (and most are used with EazyAzon which means less weight), so it can't be that? Even created a separate question on this lol.

I think this is a good inspiration, but not so much on the how too eff off appropriately 😄
Look into the search bar and type SITE speed in WA as well as Google Bing and YouTube. Write down 1 from each which pertians to your biz. And try it out weekly. Also, updating the plugins maybe needed to stop from gumming up the works. I hope this helps to eff off elegantly. Ha what a character! I hope you stay or come back and rock this.
Kind Regards,
Nurse Becca

So, I recommend running a couple of tests:

1) Disable all plugins and test the speed. This will help determine if a plugin is causing an issue.

2) Temporarily try a different theme. Rule the theme out as the culprit.

3) Make sure you have SiteSpeed enabled and test it with both settings.

Thanks for the tips, Rebecca.

P.S. I didn't understand what you meant by eff off (I thought of f*ck off but I wasn't rude or anything)

Hey Scott,

I haven't added any new plugins in a while, the theme should be rather light and SiteSpeed is enabled. But will check the plugins again.

Could check you check if the article loaded for you fast? Just created a separate question and the link is there: Thank you for your tips!

I can check the load speed. I don't see the URL...did I miss it?

No nonono I wouldn't tell you to eff off literally, I was just going along in a fun spirit way. Front end optimizing is a term coined that basically explains it is an ongoing effort to keep site speed running at its peak.

It's inside this question post: If you click on "this particular article" in "question 1 paragraph" it'll lead to the article in question.

Aaah, I see! Thank you :)

Oh yeah..I already commented on that thread lol. Sorry, I respond to so many.

You can also check my questions. People gave me some pretty good answers when I was having this issue. I had specific errors I was trying to fix and when I was contacting support, I was getting similar responses as you.

Will certainly do!

I have the same issues with speed very often and I contacted support many times. They always get it fixed very quickly, but very soon I got the same issues again.

Hi Zarina,

Front End Optimization you can consider it to be on page speed optimization.

2 mins, yo! serious issues most likely on your end.

It is difficult to tell or say what each and every individual sites problem is. I have found, the absolute vast majority of anything related to site support to be terrible in all aspects, of anything related to helping with your site let alone something technical like site speed.

(example I asked last week that they can help remove my thank you pages which were appearing in the footer by error - the reply I got back was laughable! "do you want us to remove your contact and privacy policy pages?")

As far as speed goes all they will do is tell you it is your images or direct to you google page speed insight (which is NOT and organic speed testing tool - no measurement going on there just checking a set of tech features that google likes to see)

Pass me your URL and I can have quick look for you as there are a number of thing that can be done.

A fast host is just one part of the equation, honestly WA got that bang on. 30ms look up time. fast!

I see some nice use of this F.O! thing!

Plugin, although they do add weight in the form of extra code on your site, but it is a myth that they slow your site down as the code can be

1) compressed
2) Lazy loaded (loaded only when used0
3) bit techie this bit...on load on the pages that use that particular plugin.

First plugin I aways look for is BJ lazy load. Lazy load images and video too.

Thank you for your answer! People commented that on their end the article was loading pretty fast, only 3 people with me included had an issue but right now it seems to be ok on my end too.

It is in my mind to create training regarding site speed. Marcus 1978 has training buuut kinda dated.

I do suspect you need to reduce the number of Http requests and compress your code and get your code loading together (instead of one after the other) kinda hard (ok impossible) to tell what is slowing your site without actually looking at the data and the waterfall.

You probably would if you met me hahaha!

Your eyebrows aren't bushy enough to really be narcissistic jklol

Yup, mine also is blisteringly fast. Not a problem with the servers.

Absolutely true, servers have a tremendously fast lookup time..my Domain is not a WA but site is hosted here. I'd be that tad bit quicker in all probability if I had WA domain as well.
