30 Minute Work Week

Is a 30 minute work week possible? Aren't we programed all through our formal schooling to work a 40 hour week, not including commute time? Even school its self is programing us at an early age. We get up at 7:00 a.m. so we can get ready to start our 8:30 a.m. school day. We leave at 3:30 p.m. and then commute home to do our homework and any other chores we might have.

I know home-schooled children where a non-formally educated mother or father has taken a professionally authored curriculum and taught their children. These kids have and are excelling at levels even or higher than their public school peers. The point I am making here is that the majority of these kids are done with school and homework within a couple of hours.

Think about your job. How much of your 8 hours is doing work for your employer? How much is water cooler time, fingernail grooming time, restroom time, gossiping in the next cubicle time, etc., etc.?

Work should be described as the effort expended to make a living for my family. So do I need to put in 8 hours of my life plus a 2 hour commute each day to do that? What if on Monday, my commute is the amount of time it takes to get from my bedroom to my computer. Then after expending 30 minutes of time and energy, the majority of my work week is over? What if my money was then employed for 40 hours the rest of the week, working safely for me?

Hi Dennis, routine is a way of life. I am looking at ways to run my business on autopilot. Irv.

When I first looked at your headline I thought, How many processes do you have on autopilot Dennis!

I wish I can only work 30 minutes, but unfortunately, I have to work a lot more.

Sorry, for most folks it will not be possible. Hear it might be if you work really hard and smart and wind up with multiple sources of passive income.

We're programed from an early age that life is all about work, from school to the workplace and beyond, we become like robots. this conditioning is the reason, why, when some people retire they give up, instead of enjoying life they feel they no longer have a purpose. Most of us feel pressured from day one to the 9-5 routine.
We're creatures of habit, if we could pick and chose our working hours would we be any happier for it? or use it as an excuse not to work.
At the end of the day life has become all about the money, hence why so many people are here at WA, all wanting to follow a dream.
