About Demi-100
Joined June 2016
I am a former ballroom dancer. Dancing was my passion for 14 years and I was willing to do whatever it takes to pursue my passion. In 2005 I left my hometown in Poland and decided to move to England to train with some of the best coaches in the world. During that time I was lucky to compete all over the world, teach and do shows in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and many more exciting places and become a British Championships finalist twice.

Unfortunately, for a number of personal reasons my career as a dancer ended in 2008. I decided to explore other options and completed a 4-year Business Studies degree in London and did a year-long internship at 3M where I became interested in all things online.

I’m currently in a full-time job as an Online Optimisation Manager and I really enjoy my role but at the same time I have always wondered what it would be like to have my own business and achieve beyond what’s possible in the corporate world. I also miss the thrill of sports achievement like crazy…hence why in my spare time my life revolves around gym, improving my training, experimenting in the kitchen to create healthy recipes and educating myself about fitness and nutrition. So I thought to myself…maybe there is a way to somehow combine these two together? And I ended up here at Wealthy Affiliate… we we’ll see what happens next :-)
Demi-100's Goals 3
Money Goals
1. I'd be happy with a few hundred £ a month - this would show me that making money online is indeed possible and give me the encouragement to carry on (to be honest, the first £10 would probably have me jumping out of joy!).

2. If I could earn £5000 - £10,000 a month... whoooah, I'd be SUPER ecstatic earning that much! :-)

3. I have a full time job so I could probably dedicate 2 hours a day Monday - Friday and then as much as necessary over the weekend. I'd hope to earn some money within the first year and decent money within the first 3 years.

Fantastic Demi. You are quite realistic, which is great. 2 hours a day will afford you a lot of opportunities to success. It's not the amount of time but the quality of time you devote to your business that matters. I wish you much success in attaining your goals.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

You have read my mind :-)

My niche is definitely going to be fitness/training/nutrition-related and I have a specific 'thing' in mind (the kind of website/ blog I look for when I want to find fitness information, tips, reviews, etc.) but not sure if it's good enough or perhaps too broad so it would be great to get your feedback!

My niche is women who are looking for a balanced approach to fitness while still meeting their fitness goals. They want healthy but TASTY foods and occasional treats; they want to fit training around their lives and not the other way round. They don’t want to feel like their lives are restricted by the gym and ‘chicken & broccoli’ boring meal plans. These women are conscious about their nutrition, search for protein recipes and healthier alternatives to high-calorie foods; want to achieve a fit and athletic look, likely to follow fitness models/ fitness competitors on social media. They search for fitness tips and products online, (e.g. food or gym wear) and want to read credible reviews about all the weird and wonderful things like Snickers Protein Bar, xanthan gum or weight lifting hand pads.

Essentially, I’d like to share my experience, tips and what worked/hasn’t worked for me. I’ve got a 14-year long career as a ballroom dancer behind me (endurance training), one year with a bodybuilding and a bikini fitness coach and about two years of putting together my own training plans, researching various approaches to fitness, experimenting with macronutrients and modifying traditional recipes to create healthier versions. I’ve also tried and tested TONNES of products which I formed my opinion on and many of which I’ve incorporated into my daily life. I’d like to be able to help people who are looking for this kind of information.

Apologies for the essay…It’s hard to describe it in a couple of words! Any feedback from you would be much appreciated :-)

I like how you have narrowed down your niche. Fitness tips is far too broad, but you can head in the direction in which you have specific experience (and you will of course be able to expand this as you build out your niche). Just keep it relevant, in particular when starting out (not to say you can't have a really brandable domain name).

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Yep, 'fitness tips' could be pretty much anything.

Hmm... more specifically, I want to help people who don't just want to 'lose weight' but actually build muscle and achieve a more athletic & toned look.

Do you this this is specific enough?

Btw, once I've got a website set up, can I change the template or would I have to start from scratch?

You can change the website template on the fly as a Premium member and you have over 3,500 themes to choose from. You can definitely narrow down your niche as you suggested there. :)

Hi Kyle! I'm doing well, thank you. On lesson 2 today :)
I'm thinking of upgrading to Premium membership but just wondering - if for whatever reason I feel like it's not for me, can I cancel at any time?

Also, do I need to purchase my own domain separately or is this already included in the Premium membership?

Yes, you are in full control of your membership. No contracts and full transparency, it is pay as you go.

A domain is an extra cost if you want to own your own .com (or other TLD), they are around $15 per year for a domain and you own it just like real estate and you can buy them directly here within the community.

Hope this helps you out. ;)
