My Experience as a Guest Blogger

I want to tell you about my recent experience as a guest blogger.

I was asked to write an article on a website that deals with special education. The owner was one of my followers' on Twitter and Facebook.

She asked me if I could write for her regarding my personal experience in dealing with a special need child. An article that could teach and inspire parents with special needs. It should consist of about 500 to 1000 words of unique and quality content that have not been published on any website including mine.

My initial reaction was that of fear and wonder. Fear of not being able to accomplish it on time. Wonder because I am not a professional writer and yet my writing was appreciated.

So, I began to write and taught of just picking up the important points that I have put on my website and concise it to a story that has a beginning, middle and end.

I didn't realise just by choosing some important points from all my previous posts that I would be able to create a touching story based on my own personal experience. I could not help being so emotional and deeply affected by it.

The moment I finished, it reached 1000 words and even exceeded the required amount of words by 20.

I submitted my article on time but have waited for the reply through my e-mail if it would be accepted. I was surprised and happy to see that it was accepted and ready to be viewed the following week.

I felt so blessed to have my article published. I could not believe that I would be able to write for someone, not even in my wildest dreams!

I don't consider myself as a full-pledge writer since English is not my native language and yet my article has been accepted.

Perhaps the key to quality writing is to write from the heart. Your readers are likely to engage with you if they can feel your emotions in your writing. I believe that personal experience is still best key in creating quality and engaging content.

So, this is my first experience as a guest blogger. A start that could create more leads in the future by being exposed as a guest blogger. Opportunities to be seen through social media, readers engagement and to network with people in the same niche. These are all the benefits of being a guest blogger.

How about you? Have you had an experience as a guest blogger? How did you feel and how it benefited you?

Please tell me your experience by leaving your comments below and don't forget to click the like button for your appreciation.

Have a good day or evening everyone!

Hi Adel, Nice to know your name! My birthname is Adelheid, so we are almost "sisters".

I haven't done guest blogging yet, but I offer others to blog on my sites. I was guest in many live broadcasts on video or only audio, I actually like that better than just writing words. But it might be good, too.

Wait, I have several articles published in journals, online and in print. I guess that is like guest blogging....

Yes, Heidi. My full name is Adelwisa. It's Filipino term for Edelweiss ( Austrian flower) from the movie, Sound of Music, lol. It's nice to meet you. Could I offer my service to you by becoming one of your guest blogger as well, lol :). What topics do you usually discuss in your website if I may ask?
You already established yourself an authority by having a lot of journals and articles published offline and online.
Thank you for sharing your views. I appreciate your time. :)

This is great! Wellcome Edelweiss, a very rare flower. I have never seen it in nature.
Sure you can blog something about cats, if you like. At the moment I have guest blogging only on my-cat.org website. Send me private message if you like!
Heidi
