Today marks the beginning of summer in British customs. It is the time of the year when warmer weather supposed to begin and the flowers and trees start to blossom.

It falls on a Monday which is a bank holiday or a public holiday. It is the day of floral festivals, love, and romance, and the traditional May Day dance known as Maypole Dancing. Here people used to cut down young trees and stick them in the ground in the village to signal the arrival of summer. People danced around them to celebrate the end of winter and the start of summer that would allow planting to begin.

How can we relate May Pole Dancing with the spirit we have here at WA?

Here at WA, we welcome every new member by acknowledging their presence by the welcome messages we write on their profiles. We also celebrate every WA members' achievements by dancing with them (not literally) giving out our most generous congratulatory messages, inspiring words and sharing their joys on their moment of success through commenting on their profile blogs.

The pole symbolises every achievement of a WA member and the ribbons around it symbolise every member celebrating and sharing their joys on the particular achievement received by the WA member.

So, let us all do the May Pole Dance to celebrate each member's individual achievements and may we all continue to move forward in every season of the year until we finally reached our road towards SUCCESS!

May this day be the start of a new beginning, a new challenge and a new path for all of us who is wanting a new change or direction in Life.

Celebrating with you!

Adel :)

Enjoy the summer. It's so beautiful and colorful. In our country, it's always summer!!

Thank you, Achuthan. Yes, definitely I would have to enjoy it because I'm missing summer. I just don't want it to be too hot like what my relatives are experiencing in my home country, the Philippines. Missing my home country. :-(

We are in Autumn here in Australia, going into Winter in June, but I don't mind as we had a very hot summer!

Thank you, Lisa. I know, down under is the opposite because I have relatives in Sydney and have visited them way back 1998. You really have hot summers and can fall as high as 40 degrees Celcius. It was October when I visited them and its spring so, definitely December is summer then. :)

Hi Adel - here in Lithuania may has kicked of great better than UK beautiful blue skies and temperatures around 17 so it is the start of the step into summer and I LOVE it

That's great! We are also experiencing sunny skies most of the time with a warm temperature of 16 degrees Celcius this late afternoon. The warm temperature will further rise to 24 C until the end of this week with a bit of rainfall 'though which is typical British weather. Overall, I'm loving it as well. :)
