I May have Jumped The Gun
Not long ago I blogged about some recent successes of mine that included much increased traffic as well as increased revenue from Google AdSense. I was getting consistent traffic for awhile of sessions 75 and above, even at times reaching 200 or more.
Well that looks like it has all come to an end. The reason I had been getting that kind of traffic had to do with my foray with trying out a Traffic Exchange. I did that for a bit, but I've stopped because I didn't like how it was rapidly increasing my bounce rate as well as decreasing the length of page sessions/time people spent on a page at my site.
I also got into the world of PPC for the first time using some of my money initially to try it out. While I didn't get any conversions with the product(s) I was promoting, traffic definitely increased and revenue from AdSense also went up. I had a second campaign from PPC happen that I was totally unaware of thanks to a free coupon that brought in even more traffic and increased revenue from AdSense.
Well that has now ended and it seems traffic in general has gone WAY back down to normal, but disappointing levels.
Looking through Google Analytics it has now gone back to 25-40 sessions daily. Very disappointing to me especially since I've been working hard to add content consistently which is what I've been doing and trying different things for the first time as well.
I guess I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board (as in go back through the training and making sure I'm doing things correctly) and do more research.

That's the way I have to look at it. While my website is on page 5 of Google and some of my newer posts are even further down the pages, on Bing and Yahoo my website is coming up on page 1 so that is a plus. Just means I have to work harder to get better rankings in Google though I do have some posts of mine that are on the first page there. Just need to work on getting my entire website on the first page.

Don't get disappointed. It will come back.
You know, even though traffic has dropped to levels I'm not necessarily happy with, it actually may be a good thing because the regular traffic I'm now getting is doing something that really wasn't happening very much before I tried the traffic exchange and PPC.
I'm getting more clicks on my AdSense ads. That's not to say it is happening every day, but it seems it is happening every other day and sometimes 2 or 3 clicks on the days it happens so that is certainly a positive development.
I was not getting anywhere near this amount of clicks during this time last year so this is something that has certainly changed. Because of this, I refuse to give up and I will continue to work even if it doesn't seem like traffic to my site is increasing naturally.
Good then, just keep on going.
