A lesson I learned from a past job can apply to WA

The very first time I ever worked at a call center was about 7 years ago and I struggled quite a bit when I first started. I remember there were stats posted and the rank of all the agents in the call center. If you were in the top 10, you get to have your dream schedule for the next 2 months. Needless to say I was not anywhere near the top at the time and I started to become depressed as it seemed it would be impossible for me to ever be in the top 10 of the agents in the center.

So it was then that I just decided not to even bother with looking at those stats and do the job to the best of my ability and get my bi-weekly paycheck. For the next 3 months I kept doing the job I was trained as best I could and I started doing better, in terms of passing quality each week and other stats and soon I started to bonus more often. Still, I never bothered to look at the stats to see if my rank moved up any.

Then one day before a meeting with my team, I just decided to see my rank, expecting to be ranked at the bottom of the pack. Well I didn't my see my name in that part of the list so I looked in the middle part of it, not seeing my name there either. I thought maybe there was a mistake and my name was not printed at all. So I decided to look up by the higher ranking agents not expecting to see my name there and lo and behold there I was at number 11!! I was on the cusp of breaking into the top 10!! I could not believe it! I thought this was a mistake! Surly that was wrong, but it wasn't and in the team meeting I was recognized for having consistent improvement and moving up and rank and to keep doing what I'm doing and before I know it I'll be in the top 10.

Soon I broke into the top 10 and rarely ever left the top 10 ranking and I consistently had the dream schedule I wanted. During the last year I was at that call center I even made it to the number one spot a few times!

What I and anyone can take from that is not to always just focus on the money. Sure that is why we're all here, but if that is all we see and then get discouraged when we don't get the ranking or start making the money as quickly as we might have wanted to, then the temptation to give up increases quite a bit. So then we need to just focus on the work itself. Do you enjoy the niche you've chosen? Is it something you can genuinely help people with or guide them to the solution if it is something they are having a problem with? Is it something you can update your website with on a consistent basis such as maybe 2 or 3 posts a week or more? If you've answered yes to all of those then there is your focus. You genuinely help people first and focus on the training here and learn from it, then the money WILL come! There is no time table of when it happens and it might surprise you when it finally does.

The most important thing though is DO NOT give up even when you feel discouraged. Don't let the momentum stop! I've made that mistake here recently and find it very hard to work on my site on a consistent basis because I keep thinking I'm just spinning my wheels and not going anywhere, or that I've chosen the wrong niche, or I just don't know my niche well enough when I should just stop that kind of thinking! I've actually had some of my posts rank on the first page of Google and then I just let the momentum stop because I thought I should be making money right then and there and then I had other things happen to where I lost focus. I did not want to fully give up though, and know I have to keep working at it so I am getting back into the training once again. I've been watching those live niche case studies and they are very amazing and have started to get my focus back where it needs to be.

Great post you could liken it to any job and even here at WA just focus on getting the work and they rest will take care of itself

The same applies to WA and you will continue to climb. Rank doesn't mean money but it does mean contribution and recognition and more access o learning and tutorials. And that helps bring success.
