A BIG Milestone has been Reached

Well folks, a big milestone has been reached and the timing couldn't be better. I know that my last blog post here was talking about how I may have jumped the gun on recent successes that had to do with traffic increases.

Turns out after trying PPC and stopping a traffic exchange, traffic (according to Google Analytics) has returned to regular levels of anywhere from 25-50 sessions a day. All this after getting 100+ sessions a day because of 2 PPC campaigns and trying out a traffic exchange.

The regular traffic levels that I'm now getting again my be quite a bit different now than what I had before I tried those campaigns. The reason I say that is because my clicks and revenue in AdSense has really been increasing lately and the clicks of where they are coming from are from different parts of the world as well as different devices with a good mixture being smartphones, tablets, and desktops.

That is good news and has me really excited and happy, but that is not the milestone I'm talking about. This has something to do with something else, something I've been working for 3 years or so now and FINALLY get to see it happen.

What is this milestone I speak of? I got my FIRST sale ever from a product I've promoted! I now have my very first commission from a product I've talked about a lot on my website! I've been wanting to see that for a long time and it has finally happened! This is the milestone I have waited for, because it shows that what I am doing is not for nothing and there are people out there that like my website, what I'm talking about and are starting to trust me enough that they feel comfortable purchasing through a link from my website.

This shows that my work after a long time is starting to show results, some results I have long waited for. This affiliate sale came from Amazon. Now this is the second sale I've ever had from Amazon with the first being from a few months ago, but for a product that is unrelated to my site which is fine. I love the fact that if people stay on Amazon through your link and buy other things, you get commission for it. I really have to give thanks here to a particular WA member who helped me out with that so that I would not be booted out of Amazon Associates for a second time.

Now the commission I got from that sale of a product I promoted on my site is not big. It's kind of disappointing because the commission is so little, but that is also because the product I promoted has come down in price dramatically.

So while it may not really amount to very much, I'm still glad it had happened because it shows that something I'm doing is actually working. Next milestones to focus on is to try and slowly scale things up to start generating the revenue to where I can start to slowly depend on income less and less from my day job.
