Why Don't You Have A Website?

What does the above image have to do with the question below?

Why Can't I Find Your Website?

Well, the photo, though wonderful to look at, doesn't have much to do with anything in particular, unless you're selling mountains, but that is exactly what I just got trying to track down a product, nothing in particular.

A few moments ago, while doing what I do, researching, buying, and selling, I couldn't tell for sure what product, or products, a person with a video on u tube was selling, though I had a few clues. But I did want to know. I still want to know. (I do the buying part very well, if you know what I mean.) This person was obviously a professional in his field, probably licensed, like maybe a Naturapathic or Homeopathic Practitioner. I know he was trying to be non-salesy, and I appreciated that, but dang--

Long story short-- If this person has a website, I could not find it. It was frustrating, because it used up my time.

What happened? I watched 3 consecutive u tube videos, which fell within the range of (one) of my niche interests, the subject being natural or holistic health. I learned quite a bit, because the videos contained (some) fresh, relevant, and useful information. I wanted more, to the point of saving the holistic practitioner's name, but. . .. When I went searching I could only find u-tube and Facebook references--and not even how to buy. I spent way more time doing this than most people would.

Maybe he doesn't show up in google results with a website, or any other way, because he's new, but really, I think he's only playing Facebook and u tube. The bottom line is this-- I could not, after a reasonable time of searching, find his schticht(is that a word?). I could not even tell if he was selling something via Facebook or u tube.

If I could have found a website, or even a landing page URL, I would have considered his products. At least I was headed to look into them. I will still google the process itself, which is nutritional hair analysis, because I am interested in it. Somebody's got this product.

So. . .. Why set up a website?

. . . and set it up correctly, as long as you're doing it . . .

Can I assume you are here in Wealthy Affiliate to learn how to promote something through the making and maintaining of a website, whether it is to learn, teach, help, write, promote, sell, etc., something or someone to some degree or another. Can I reasonably also assume, that if you spend your valuable time and do the work to accomplish one of these things, that you would like to be found, to be noticed, or be listened to?

One point to be made here is, if your purpose is to do one of the above things, feel very good about being here in Wealthy Affiliate, where you can actually learn how, and get the help you need to accomplish this goal, the setting up a relevant website, and you actually can learn how to--

Promote Your Product/s, and/ or Your Ideas, and/or Yourself-- and Do It Professionally. Furthermore, if you do have a product to promote, you may be able to actually sell it, because someone out there can find it when they are searching.

1. Make a real website for real people with real information. People are looking for real answers. Some of them even want to buy a product related to the real answers. Put yourself in their shoes. Go study some websites. How were they put together. What did you like, or not? Use the feedback tool here.

This is called user experience. Give your people a great user experience.

2. In your website, make sure you leave plenty of clues, lots of breadcrumb trails, on how to get to whatever you happen to be selling or promoting, if that's what you're doing. And if that's not what your focus is, to sell, let us know that too, so we don't go searching. In fact, most people won't go searching. In other words, be clear. Don't make us guess. You want us to come back, right?

3. People appreciate good information. But if it's more than generic, then they need to know how to apply your specific information to their specific situation. So pay careful attention, learn how, and don't forget to tell them how.

Someone, please tell me if schticht is a word.

Hi Donna! I like your writing style. Well said! I've had similar experiences over the years regarding products and practitioners I've researched. It's pretty bad when you go in circles trying to find sites or information, only to come up with limited info from YouTube videos, no websites, dead links, or the famous "this domain for sale"---when all you want to do is possibly buy their products or find out more about the practitioner's qualifications. Sale lost! Too much valuable time wasted. Def not a good user experience. Thanks for the great post!

Have a Healthy, Successful & Prosperous 2019
