New People, Old People, All People-Feeling Overwhelmed by TMI?

I am speaking to some of you, perhaps many, who are feeling overwhelmed by TMI--you know, too much information. Is your head about to explode? Most of us are here because we recognize there is opportunity to be found working on the internet. Yet by the time we sift through .000001 to the 100th power (I don't have time to find that symbol right now), of possibly useful information, it's past lunchtime, and if you're like me, the carbs at lunch may do you in.

However, sooner than you think, you will move past a minute piece of that barrage of cloud material and begin to focus in on what actually needs to be done this day, this hour, and this minute. There is always a way to narrow it down-- And that will depend on your own particular way of doing that narrowing down thing (organizing).

Being a left-handed, right-minded, Pices dreamer more than doer, planner more than doer, thinker more than doer, I am actually writing this to myself. However, one of my goals, which by writing here means others may be watching and I better get it done: that is, to bring my WA rank down below 1000 by January 1, 2019.

Did I say here: I'm blonder more than doer.

The photo is too big here. I left it in to illustrate a point: It took approximately 1 hour to get that photo in there. I was writing in the WA editor. But, in the meantime, I learned (or relearned) how to resize a photo-- I thought-- However, it didn't load into this editor at 1.5 X 2 inches. So, is there someone out there who can tell me how to do that? Also, I couldn't figure out how to wrap the text, hence the white space. And it will probably look different after I publish it into this post, anyway. (And indeed it does. So forget that question. This is called a learning curve.)

This aside does fit into my point. I am not a natural to the technical side of a website project, and I am teaching myself, for the most part. (My long term goal is to design websites, if I should live that long.) If it were not for Wealthy Affiliate, I would probably have to give up this dream of becoming an online entrepreneur, much less a website designer. There is an overload of information out there and everything costs something, not the least of which is time. I am thankful to have found a space where I can learn at my own pace, feel validated, ask questions, share a piece of me and receive a piece of you, and have a place in which I can feel comfortable to do that.

Experiencia docet. Experience teaches.

Learn one thing at a time and put it into practice. Practice makes perfect. Soon it won't take as much time. Soon you will know where to go to find things and how to use them. Don't follow Alice down too many rabbit holes. However, some of those trails can be very helpful. Yeah, Google (if it's still following your goal line).

Work through the courses. You can't help but learn how to do things by doing them. Don't cheat.

Ask questions. There are people here who know a lot and who actually take their time to help people like us.

Write. Write every day.

Back to the goal-- This exercise has served several purposes to help me to meet my above goal of lowering my WA rank number. In the writing of this post, I did, or spoke of four things I know from experience moves the numbers. There are many more, but these are ones I noticed.

1. I wrote something.

2. I may have helped or encouraged someone who feels overwhelmed by information overload.

3. I wasn't planning that-- but I asked a question of my fellow internetters.

4. Work through the courses.

5. Achieve success at Wealthy Affiliate

I think 1. and 4. carry the most weight for me at this particular time. I know helping is huge, but I need to get knowledgeable enough to do that professionally. So there's another goal. And success is the prize.
