My first day back in London UK from Spain. I came across a few challenges that taught me some lessons. I really want to share it with you all, but most of all, with those who have new accounts, here in Wealthy Affiliate. Yes maybe even some premium members too.

So as most of you now know I, have just come back from Spain and it was so lovely we all had the best time ever. There is not one thing I could fault about Spain I just love it so much. However, this is about my personal self and somethings I need to sort out before I move further forward. Here's some pics from Spain.

Evening view from my Favorite restaurant.

The villa and swimming pool was more beautiful Than I could have imagined.
Living my Laptop Lifestyle in Spain woohoo. Working from Spain any country I like. Glass of Wine a cigarette and some mozzy spray little blighters.Lol :)
My son with My friends Daughter Baby Mila she is so cute. Having a BBQ at the villa.

Anyways back to some urgent lessons I need to share with W.A. Members.

Whilst I was In Spain, I lost my passport so had to go into central Malaga the main police station and also to the British consulate. To get a new passport. Normally, for myself, in the past, that would be a harrowing experience. However, gone is the pessimist here is the new me. I got it sorted. Lol Without a blip.

However on top of this my bank cards and one of my Dads bank Cards was compromised. I know two questions will arise from this.

Here is the first I hear you asking!!

My dads card?

Yes I have access to my wonderful Dads card we bank together. It is in his name because before 2016 I was totally broke. I was bankrupt. So my credit rating was zilch and below. I didnt have a dime not even a bank account I could rely on.

My Dad Colin is his name, was the person who helped me forward with W.A. and we still bank together. I don't borrow his money anymore. I pay my own way, and have bought my Dad, his last cars the latter was my old Mitsubishi Shogun now he has a Mercedes not a new one but it is still a good one. One year older than mine but not a convertible. He doesnt like convertables lol. "My dad is my best friend !"

The second question I hear you ask why was my accounts were compromised.

Why was my cards compromised.?

My cards were compromised by someone I know, not that well but well enough. I was totally shocked it happened. I am not here for the "Hope you are okays"etc or an "Oh dear poor you."

I am telling you for one reason only. "To sort out your accounts."

I have endless accounts some I haven't bothered with for years. I have so many email addresses I have set up and I can't get into. I have an old FB account that lies dormant and unused and holds more family photos that you could imagine. I can't get into it no matter how hard I try.

Why I hear you ask. I don't have the password nor do I have the backup emails now for my old FB nor the old phone I used back then. Getting the friends to verify you can be a nightmare most don't follow it through for you. Especially on old accounts.

I always used dodgy bits of paper that have been mislayed misplaced... Strewn everywhere or I lost with scribbled passwords. Not a good Idea at all.

I am now still silly enough to either rely on my phone or my P.C.

See windows 10 can store my passwords. They can store all my emails and notify me, like now quite beautifully. So easily but not good enough if my windows 10 fails or my P.C.

Now whilst I type!

I get notification popups from W.A. Pm. My email messages notify me before it does in Wealthy Affiliate. It, all runs so perfectly well. That still isnt good enough if I loose my passwords or forget them. Thats my fault.

I need my busines to run ilike W.A. Like a beautiful rolex watch runs. Like clockwork like a master piece. A smooth time piece.

I need to have my own private back up source. In a locked personal cabinet. On paper. Just like I would if I was an accountant. Or my personal accountant would, and maybe a good P.A. to take care of all that stuff for me. I am useless at all that filing.

Anyways just please don't rely on everything internet wise. Storing passwords in our heads we forget. PC's can break and mobiles can be lost. Have a safe place to store passwords important stuff etc. I could spend hours looking for that old mobile chip that was backup or I could hunt for that bit of paper or Rack my Brains for stored passwords.

Good old fashioned cabinets like we use in any office. Some system to be placed in our offices from home. Something that willl save us hours of lost time hunting a password etc. So I am setting up a good and powerful system. So I am prepared for the next bank account compromise. No more lost passwords for me:)

Infact I should do what my dad does at 79 years old. He never forgets nothing. Why because his internet workstation and banking and billls is always laid out so he can sort it out instantly. Gosh I love my dear old Dad. He has a better system in place than I have. :) He is my P.A and Admin.

Just a little update down below Marion has just commentd what she does. So I shall be using that idea also for my private Data. Marion Black you are one in a million and so is your training :)

Here is another post I need to share here you all should read it as most do not know how easy it is to steal from anyone, :(

Hi, thanks for sharing:) I use LastPass because I have plenty of passwords too, all the best:)

Hi, Thank you I shall check it out :))
Thank you for passing by.
Debs :)

Thanks Debs!
I am just the opposite of you. All I have is stored in my iPhone and MacBook. If I lose electricity and all my batteries run down I’m in big trouble. I don’t use much paper anymore!
Glad you had a lovely trip.
KyleAnn
PS-my Dad is my best advisor too!

Hi,
we are the same lol Marion has a great idea too. I am going to look into it.

Dads are great, aren't they. I wasn't so close to my Dad as he was always working away but he has called me every single day for the last 12 yrs since my mom passed away. We live 250 mile apart he is my best friend bless him: :)

Great to catch up with you again :)

Debs :)

I know what you mean. My Mom passed 3 years ago and I’m much closer to him now...he’s 91!

Awe bless him. My dad has just turned 79.

Isn't it great how they step up for us I think they must know we need them more after losing our Moms. :(

Take care hunni. We certainly have loads in common. :)

I have a special booklet with everything stored. But I like Marion's idea with the encrypted text file. Marion is that a program that handles that. It sounds like a better system then the one I have now, but not too long ago my system was more like Debs:).
Mary

Hi, Mary,
I think the one that Marion said seems a better way for me too.
I am hoping Marion may write about this herself too. Marion is just brilliant. :)
Debs :)

The easiest way to encrypt a file is with WinZip.

Thanks Marion, it is time I organize my passwords.
Mary

Great post! I still default back to paper & pen. Even when starting my posts -- all begin with paper & pen/pencil. Having a paper record in a secure location is the best backup, I agree.

Sadly, the younger generations are not learning the importance of the good ole pen & paper. They rely too much on computers & phones. Concerns me, there entire lives are out there for the world to see.

Thanks again for the post & the reminder.

Maureen

Hi, Maureen, yes its always good to do that but what Marion does seems so much better too :) I am going to check it out and have a text file with encryption as Marion uses. :)
Debs :)

Thanks, Debs you're the best.

Your so welcome but Marion has a fab idea that she uses too. Its just below this comment.

Debs :)

I don't have any passwords committed to paper. I keep everything in an encrypted text file which I store on my computer with a backup on my website. Both are very secure with a password which I can easily remember..

I certainly need to do that Marion.

In fact no. I seriously really need to do that. I hate leaving bits and pieces on paper too.

That's why you are one of my favourite people here. Thank you so much, Marion. I need to set that up asap. I need to sort it out so much right now as it goes. Thank you, Marion. You are a gem.

I was hoping you would pass my post with some better way to sort out my password problems etc.

Thank you again Marion :))

Debs :)

Marion, I have just added more into my post about your comment. You are a star. Thank you :)

That file has all sorts of stuff in it, not just passwords. I keep all my affiliate links in there too as well as the login details for my websites. I just use Ctrl+F to search for whatever I'm looking for. And then I can use copy and paste.

Thank you, Marion, you are brilliant. I don't know what I would do without you. Honestly, you have helped me out so much :)

Very wise information Debs :)!

Not wise but certainly needed on my part lol.
Thank you for passing by Cliff.
Debs :)

Loved the stories Debs.
Thank you for sharing them with us.

Joe.

Hiya, Joe,

All true written as I feel the need to write them. Just hope they help some people and guide and inspire them. From a north Yorkshire lasses point of view. Lol :)

Hey there Rockstar welcome back

Hey hey Rockstar I am home Lol BTW now big time. woohoo :)

Yes you are

Woohoo I need to I didn't do so much out in Spain Lol it was brilliant though :))

How are you all doing you family of Rockstars :)))

Well done Debs-good on you sorting out your stuff and all the very best with you journey. I have only been with WA for a short time but I agree with your sentiments regarding the system. It is very efficient and lets you know where you stand very step of the way.- and thumbs up for your best friend (Dad).
Mike Carden
